Villian seems fair in play, but no specific reads yet. He has not checkraised since I've sat down, but I've been playing especially nittish because of cold cards. I felt he was trying to steal my "c-bet" with the flop checkraise. Did I butcher this?

I would have fired again on the turn, giving him bad enough pot odds so that he can't draw to the one flush. Plus you get info about where you are at in the hand. Take my input with a grain of salt untill other people reply, hopefully I won't get berated but I just started playing NL. Good Luck

Yeah, I was strongly thinking about betting the turn, but did not want to build a pot with TPGK. I think I may have misapplied WA/WB...
Hmm, thinking through this, if villian has a heart (or two), then this is certainly not WA/WB, but more like pretty far ahead/dead. Should I bet something like 2/3 pot on the turn? |

I don't know about the 2/3 the pot thing because I am really just starting today to play NL so I don't know how to properly size a bet, but for sure you needed to fire out on the turn, however, I think you really want to get info from your bet without risking too much money. If he re-reaises you he probably has the flush or TPTK.

I'd be folding the flop. Without a read that villain likes to pick off my c-bets with air, I take check-raises very seriously. They usually signal a very strong hand (AA, A7, A8, 77, 88), though it might be a flush draw.
As played, checking behind on the turn is good. The flush draw hit, so there's hardly anything you're beating any more , though TT-KK are still possible. On the river he makes a good value bet. I think a call's actually okay here. If he did have the set or two pair, your straight could be good. It's hard to tell by his bet. I'd be betting that amount with either the flush or a set or two pair, because there's no way I'm putting you on a naked jack. |

Everyone else folding this flop? How about the river?

I fold the river. Villian bets more if they are bluffing the heart. He wants Hero to call.

Sometimes I decide I hate money and call this river. I would like to hear a solid math orientated argument from anyone who thinks a river call is even possibly ok.

Thanks for all the input guys...I thought I messed up the hand pretty badly. I was confused when villian tabled Qc9d and my hand was good.
