Default What has two thumbs and likes to get stacked??

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em (NL$2000) (10 handed) link

Reads: UTG is solid, but a little aggro preflop: stats around 20/16 -- CO is colossal 60/4 donkey.

STACK SIZES: UTG has $3,878 I cover. Donkey has $1,500.

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $66.00, 2 folds, Hero calls $66.00, 1 folds, CO calls $66.00, 3 folds.

Flop: ($228.00) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG bets $200.00, Hero raises to $800.00, CO folds, UTG calls $600.00.

Turn: ($1828.00) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $1234.00, Hero calls $1234.00.

River: ($4296.00) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG raises all-in ($1778.50), Hero calls $1778.50.

Final Pot: $7853.00.

Ugh -- where did I go wrong? I thought flop raise was a decent enough play, I was ready to call a push.

Turn: pretty sure this is where I butchered this hand...every impulse in my body was telling me to fold...but it was a little less than 2/3 pot bet, could have been any number of things that I beat...plus i still had 4 outs that were prob good, plus flush draw that was unlikely to be good, but maybe. I just talked myself into a call here.

River: pretty sure I can't let the hand go on this blank even though things don't look pretty at this juncture...

Bleh -- ick on every street.

Fold turn? AK doesnt call on the flop. KQ maybe but it looks like he's trying to build a pot... I suck at these spots too, the principle of folding 2pair is hard to let go of.

Oh man that's ugly. Listen, no one pair hand calls that huge flop raise. I dont think any hand calls the raise actually except a set that doesnt want to blow you off the hand. A holding like KQ suited will almost certainly push the flop over your raise, as there's a ton of money in at that point.

So yea, when he bets the turn you're dead meat

I wouldn't have called the turn. Only option is to fold or to push. Personally I would have pushed cause there is no way I'm giving up the two pair in this situation.. he could have any number of hands that you were beating.. AA with Ac.. AJ with Ac.. to name a few. Most guys won't call with AK with Ac in that flop situation so you can probably rule that out.

Also, let's pretend he has higher two pair (KJ) obviously can't have a club.. or a set (again obviously can't have a club).. then you still have a considerable amount of outs.

Worst case he has the flush already or is some sick bastard that made an utg raise with Q9 with Qc.. then you're stuck on 4 outs.

But there is always the chance he folds to a push on turn.. doubtful.. but possible (making it better than just calling the turn if you know you're probably gonna be allin on river anyway).

Also, think about this when you're just calling.. what if club hits the river. What are you going to do then?

Hi Teddy,

Fold Pre-flop. Raise flop. Fold turn or raise all-in. Fold River. WTF? Standard dumb pre-flop call led to all the compounding errors.

teddy, for whatever you might have done wrong in this hand (I think you should fold the turn), you made up for it with the subject line: funniest one I have ever seen on this forum.
