Welcome to the basement of the PP empire!
No reads other than no one folds hands, too many people in every pot, no blind stealing is possible, I had not noticed anyone not betting when they hit some type of hand, no one folds for a quarter........ My position is early and I plan to retire if the betting gets agressive. BB checks preflop so I can not put him on much. He bets the flop/turn/river never getting excited. I call with overs and draw. Should I have gotten out? When? Why? What do you put BB on? raise preflop and most likely continuation bet the flop depending on # of callers. given your preflop limp, fold the flop. given your flop call, good turn call, but fold the river. he is value betting in a limped pot and you have ace high.

Preflop: I would have raised here, especially if no-one is folding anything! Flop: Fine. Two over cards and a poss runner-runner straight/flush draw. I call. Turn: Fine. I call with a flush draw. River: I fold. BB has a set or KsQs |

Taking the Grunch's advice and :Grunch:
At the beginner level you are right, it is tough to put the BB on a hand. Despite your reads, I would have raised pre-flop and put in a continuation bet on the flop and responded from the action there. As you played it, BB could have anything from a pair of tens or even ace high. I would be more apt raise pre-flop, bet out the flop, and either call a raise on the flop or go for the free card on the turn. If bet into on the turn, call with the nut flush draw and fold the river unimproved or check behind if the table is that passive. |

Raise preflop. As played I think you can fold the flop.

Preflop raise. FLop: Raise to get rid of players and coz you have BD nut flush and straight draws. Turn: take a free card if available. River fold if UI |

Raise preflop.
Good flop call. You have 7ish outs and are getting 6 to 1 effectively closing the action. Good turn call, you have 9 outs to the nut flush, and 6 outs to top pair, top kicker which is possibly still good if BB doesn't have you reverse dominated, made two pair, or hit one of the draws (both flush and straight) that came in on the turn. Awful river call. Like, this is -1 BB right there. You're like, never good. There are times when you call a river bet with Ace high. This is not one of them. |

How do you figure? I can see discounting the Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] but don't see why TPTK is no good otherwise?
Erm, by 8ish I meant 7ish. |
