Default 52o Blind Hand

Villain in this hand is 40/10/1 over about 75 hands. I hadn't seen him get massively out of line or anything while I was at the table.

Everything here looks fine to me. However if you can trust this guy I would strongly recommend bet/folding the river. The problem with checking and calling on this board is a sane player will never bet here with a lesser hand, but if you bet they may call with a worse one like 4x.

check/fold river.

If he raised the flop with Ax and a straight draw he got there on the end. If he raised the flop with an overpair he's got you. If he raised the flop with 5x he has you outkicked with two pair because you have the worst kicker in the deck. I don't think you are good 16% of the time here agianst an non-aggressive opponent.

Against this guy, folding may be the best play once the hero checks. But I am not convinced that check/fold is a better line than bet/fold. I think this guy may have 4x or some other weirdly played worse hand often enough that will call a river bet to make bet/folding a strong consideration over check/fold. I am not sure what the best line is though but it looks to me that its between check/fold and bet/fold. I am not totally against check/calling eiher. Check/calling in seemingly hopeless situation seems to pay off online becuz of the high level of retarded aggression out there even by so-called passive players.

If this hand was played live, then I think check/calling would be a terrible line here cuz you'll never win.

Ya i think its a real toss-up between bet/fold, check/fold and check/call. I kinda think that in a SH pot, a 40/10 will usually raise almost any ace. However, he could still be holding 56s, 22, 33 or 44 and you certainly cant completely rule out an A2-A5. Bet/fold and check/call both cost you the same, and i don't think hes ever bluff-raising the river so i think bet/fold is probably your best bet here.

I think I would have c/red the flop against most players, seeing how they will probably bet most hands on this flop and then get slowed down by my c/r. He could be raising a pp like 66-77 here or just over cards on the flop, figuring you are taking a shot. The way it played out, I think you had to check the turn because you don't want to get raised with your SD outs. When you pair up on the river, you should probably bet again, but I wouldn't fault you for folding in this relatively small pot. I imagine he had a low pp but some people will play this surprisingly hard with just K high.
