So having heard a little about Turning Stone today and the particularly odd rake policies they used to have (which are still a bit strange), I'm wondering what other kinds of rake structure are out there in the world. I've only played in AC, Vegas, and London, but I'm sure there are other structures.
The ones I know of are: -x% to $y max (as is the standard online) -time collection per half hour -graded intervals- when I played 15/30 at the bellagio was something like $1 at $40, $1 at $80, $1 at $140, $1 at $200. Turning Stone apparently does somethign similar to this, though with a higher rate. -I heard of a game once where the small blind was dropped every hand at the beginning of the hand. How do things work in SoCal? NorCal? Cruise lines? Oklahoma? Djibouti? 2nd |

There was a brief discussion on one of the Australia posts. Sydney, Australia charges $x per hand per player every single hand.

NorCal tends to be a fixed per-hand rake based on the number of players in the game. At the low limits, Garden City and Bay 101 both charge $4 at a full table, $3 at 6 players, or $1 with 5 or fewer. (In Stud/8 this gets taken out of the pot on 3rd street. The Hold'em games take $1 if there's no flop.)

At Foxwoods almost every LHE game is $2 at flop.

The Seneca casinos: $3 on the flop no matter what the game is, other than the time collection games. The lower the limit you play(i.e. 2-4 limit), the more it kills you. I couldn't tell you how many hundreds of hands Ive dealt where there is $6 or $8 in the pot...bam! -$3...

Turning Stone USED to be $3 per hand as long as the pot was $10 or greater.
Barcelona is 2.5% up to $30 max, in $5 intervals. Thats euros, not dollars. |

CardPlayer Cruises: all the games had a normal rake, except the beginners' micro $1-2 limit game. The button posted $1, which was dropped before the cards were dealt. After that, take 10%, up to the normal max, whatever that was.

I believe that's how it is everywhere in California. It isn't legal to change the rake based on the size of the pot. Some casinos have a smaller drop for fewer players though, some don't. San Manuel is always $4 if the flop is seen at the low limits, for example.
