Default Tens vs. Tight Aggressive UTG Raiser

Villan is 21/13/3.17/1008.

Is there any other way to play this hand or is it boring?

Raise flop? Call a re-raise, fold turn UI?

Preflop action suggests you are probably beaten already.

If I make it to river, I'm definately folding as well.

Maybe R/F the turn for a free showdown (hoping he folds AK)? Raise the flop and B/F the turn? OTOH, I don't see villain going anywhere, so you're probably just putting in extra bets you'll lose. There's 24 ways to make JJ-AA and 16 ways to make AK, so if you weren't already behind the river definitely cooked you. This guy's stats make me wonder if he couldn't get tricky and cap a middle pair heads-up (KQ not so likely to me), but then 66 and 99 flopped sets... I like it as you played it.

Do you raise a river brick?

No, I wasn't planning on it. It would suck to fold to a 3bet.

with 10,10 or j,j-i usually just call an early raiser (with q,q-k,k or a,a i will almost always reraise)...assuming i'm not raised behind, i will usually raise the early position player (with any flop) and take it from there....assuming i'm called, i'll bet the turn and check behind on the river if we get there (if there are overcards present)....i'll likely fold if i'm raised at any point after the flop...

This make me believe you have a generic way of playing each individual hand which you stick to. This is bad. You need to use reads to your advantage.

Haupt,

Did you consider raising the river?

Hmmm... I didn't. Even if I knew this guy had KK-JJ, do you think he would lay down to a river raise enough times to warrant putting 2 more BBs in?

It does make me think though...

FWIW, your hand should look to him more like a big ace than a premium pair.

Yea, when you mentioned the river raise I thought that right away. I think raising the river here would have been sexy...

Getting 8.7:2... if my play works around 23% or so then its +EV right? I think he may fold 1/4 times but its hard to tell.

If I realized all of this at the time, I still don't know if I would attempt it because I think it would be better to have seen him make bigger, smart laydowns previously. That's hard to find at 5/10.
