Default PokerGrapher postgreSQL alpha is out

Stumbled on this the other day. The new version of Poker Grapher (1.3.8) now works with PostgreSQL databases. Looks good, I've had no problems yet.

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=577091

Here's the files:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=149136

Scroll down a bit and you'll notice there's three files, Mono.Security.dll, Npgsql.dll, and PokerGrapher.exe. I needed all three since this new version doesn't seem to have a packaged installer yet. I just downloaded all three and put them in my PokerGrapher directory. Works like a charm.

Good timing since I can no longer get Poker Patterns to work anymore. That developer has seemingly fallen off the face of the earth.

I guess the cat's out of the bag. One of the developers who signed on for the PokerGrapher project has gotten busy.

Feedback and bug reports are welcome at this forum: http://www.overcards.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17

I know this will be welcome news to many people; all glory and honor for this update belong to SwingSwingSwing.

Excellent - at least one person using it successfully :-)

As well as PostgreSQL support there are a couple of new features.

You can now refresh a graph by right clicking on it and choosing 'Refresh'.
In the advanced options tab you can choose which items appear in the floating summary. This makes it easy to hide your screenname if you want to post your graph online.

I've put out a new release today v1.3.10. This one fixes a few bugs and also has a simple installer.

URL is http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=149136

Cheers

John

When I try to install I get the following message:

FATAL:28000:no PostgreSQL user name specified in startup packet.

Any idea where I'm going wrong?

Do you get this during installation or when you launch PokerGrapher?

Can you try manually downloading the v1.3.8 release files and placing them in you Program File\Poker Grapher directory as mentioned in the first post?

Rather than clutter up 2+2 can you post on the overcards.com PokerGrapher Bug Reports forum?

Thanks

John

I get the same thing when I attempt to run the program. I did however install my copy into a different directory: c:\poker\poker grapher, if for some reason that would matter.

My postgres db password is NOT blank.

I'd post on the other forum, but I'm lazy and didn't want to create an account, ha!

You should fill in PostgreSQL username and password in ODBC settings: Control Panel/Administrator Tools/Data sources (ODBC)/System DNS/pick your DB and Configure.

Yes, there is a problem with the Postgres connection. My mistake :-( .The fix mentioned by piki should make it operational.

I'll be putting out a new version today or tomorrow which should resolve the issue.

But thanks for trying it out.

Hey, thank you for doing the work - I'm glad to test it.

Just fyi, I get a connection error when I click Calculate on the Rake tab. Error text: 'An OLE DB Provider was not specified in the ConnectionString.' When I hit continue on the error, then it just goes to an hourglass and doesn't do anything past that (no CPU usage).
