Default Party VIP Question

So I've recently ramped up the number of hours/hands I'm playing on Party and I figured it would be a waste to not try to get in on some of the offers that I'm always reading about.

I sent Party an email to ask what I needed to shoot for to receive even the most minimal of offers. I got a response back saying that before I'd be considered, I needed to accumulate 7000 points. Does this seem excessive to anyone else?

I play just about an even split of $5/$10 stud, and small stakes ($.10/25, $.25/.50 NL) hold'em. So again, doesn't this seem a little high? If I accumulated 3500 points from the stud play, that's over $1500 in rake (just mine) right there. I always thought that $1000 in MGR was the "magic key" to get the VIP stuff. Any advice/ideas?
