Default Adware Problem

So I was dumb and downloaded some sketchy software and now have all this crap on my computer. When I first opened the software, my antivirus (trend micro PC-cillin) pops up and tells me that I have a bunch of trojan viruses, but it's gonna "quarantine" them. So I immediately delete the stuff I d/led.

Now, like every 3 or 4 minutes, one of a few different ads sites will pop up. So I tried using spybot and ad-aware, and both of them gave me that message that I had some stuff that was running, so they needed to clean it up at next boot. However, neither of them opened when I restarted. I repeated the process and nothing.

What do I do?

Don't close the spybot and adaware programs before sutting down your PC. They wil then run upon startup. You could always use System Restore if you are using Win ME or WinXP.

I went through that last week; risky download resulted in a s**tload of strange processes running that reinstalled themselves after I deleted them.

Trend and AVG didn't find anything. ewido found and removed something like 12 trojans.

This is what always works for me:run your antispyware (webroot will get out the nastiest ones)in safe mode.Follow this up with a Hijack This scan on your registry.Be careful, but delete anything you know to be suspicious. On reboot, it should not be able to regenerate.

Boot in safe mode, then run adaware/spybot.

Tried this... no good.

Does system restore make me lose all the new stuff I've put on my computer (word files, new programs, etc.)?
