this works for IE, so i assume it'll work for firefox.

start button -&gt; settings -&gt; control panel -&gt; sounds -&gt; clear the ones you don't want playing.


other option:
1) find the sound files on your pc that you don't want playing
2) delete them or replace them with alternative sounds
3) ??????
4) profit
