[ QUOTE ]
I think many of the people in MTTc don't visit the MTTs forum much because it is filled with many lower stakes posts that have decisions that are fairly basic for us. If there were a high stakes only forum I would definitely start to post hands and be more active again as I think a lot of others would also. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto. $109+; $55r+; $500+ live. I don't think the lower buyin threads will suffer. If anything, when higher stakes players go to the forum that has those posts, they'll be doing it specifically to help out, plus the low stakes forum would presumably have a mod who plays bigger and would spend time answering threads. A lot of msnlers post in ssnl, and that's a pretty good analogy for the mtt split. |

I think a split would be benefitial. I mostly play MTT's in the $22-55 range and I'm working on building my roll so I can start playing the $100+ MTT's on a regular basis soon.
I would often reply and post hands in the low stakes forum to work on my fundementals, while at the same time I'd respond and participate in discussions in the high stakes forum to learn more advanced concepts as I start to experience those playing conditions more often. I think low stakes MTT'ers should be encouraged and willing to participate in the high stakes discussion as there will be lots of great insight to be learned on how to develop your game to a higher degree. As matter of fact I think it will help all posters as some seriouly valuable information/discussions would be presented in a very concentrated fashion. |

As a mainly cash game player who plays some of the big MTTs I would post and read a ton more MTT strat if there was a high stakes forum. As is, reading the strat forum is pretty terrible.

The main people who will be listened to in a thread like this are the high stakes players.
As a result, I think that its kind of stupid if we let posters decide since they are completely self-serving. I really think 2+2 as a whole is about teaching people how to play poker, not good players perfecting their game. Anyone who is playing $200 freezeouts etc should have enough friends on AIM/ in real life to talk about hands with. I think that the benefit of not having to weed through 4/180 posts is much less than the loss small buyin players will face because of the better players leaving. |

i think ur points are really exaggerated. high stakes players dont respond to 4/180 hands anyways. kind of suprised to see this post from u tbh.

Just do it and see what happens. It doesn't have to be permanent.
Then again, that means that the higher stakes poster need to post more hands. |

[/ QUOTE ] hes right though playing in the micros will make you want to kill yourself after long-term exposure to it, it doesnt help when youre extremely hard pressed to get help from the more knowledgable people of the forums. isnt the best way to learn to learn from someone who knows more? which is the current problem, being stuck in the micros, where it seriously does become a crapshoot depending on your cards since there is no way to accumulate, since they always call...makes it really tough to get out of |

So I obviously [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] them. But I really do agree that a forum split is probably necessary. My only real complaint is that I will have to open 3 browsers instead of two. Which is a [censored] while multi-tabling. edit: censor missed a word |
