it's really easy to sit here and say "well flipping out was wrong." But holy [censored] man.. finding it out in front of her when one second all is good and then your world gets turned upside down.. that's a major kick in the gut. I'm assuming that OP could tell by body language that she was really uneasy about talking to the caller.
If someone can keep their cool there, they're a better man than I.
