funny story:

so Buddy1 is a consultant, monday-weds was in Houston, Weds night comes through chicago, Thurs heads off to Singapore (again) for 10 mo or so, which isn't so bad cause he's dating some chick out there.

so he calls buddy2 earlier this week saying "hey man, i got a package shipped to you from barnes and noble that i'll pick up on weds if it's there by then and take to singapore for the gf."

buddy 2 "should i forward it on to you if it doesn't get here in time? and why not just have it delivered from barnes and noble direct to singapore?"

buddy 1 "i think it's just cheaper or something to get in the US, it's Lost Girls, a graphic novel by Alan Moore."

Buddy2 "uh, you do know that that's a hardcore pornographic novel right?"

Buddy 1: "uh, no, i did not know that."

Buddy 2: "and you know of course that it's illegal to bring hardcore porn in to Singapore, right?"

Buddy 1: ...

Buddy 2: "I think she's trying to get rid of you."

Results: Buddy1 is on his way to Singapore right now with hardcore porn in his bag. We're all kind of hoping for some light caning.

I think I get the point of the story, which is pretty funny, but some of the details don't add up.

So buddy 1 is getting a package shipped to buddy 2 that, if it arives by wed, buddy 1 is somehow taking to singapore for the GF?

Then buddy 2 wants to know if he should forward it to singapore if buddy 1 has already left?

Then some meow chow and buddy 1's girl is somehow trying to get rid of him by all this?


Did Buddy 1's GF ask for him to bring this book with him, buddy 1 ordered it, and is asking buddy 2 to send it via mail if it doesn't arrive by teh time he leaves?

Idk, I'm kind of confused, but I'm pretty sure there's an LOL in there some where.

Also I'm totally down for using this thread like Manchild and AMT, but I think it would be a ton better if we lived in the same house. I guess if I ever come to Chicago to visit or vice versa, we'll just be sure to talk in the [censored] thread for a while to each other.

But lawls I gotta run to lunch, clear things up for me while I'm out kthx.

wow, yeah, i suck at clarity:

buddy 1's gf asked him to buy this book and bring it to singapore for her. since he's out of town on biz, he had it shippe to buddy 2's house. buddy 2 was told not to bother mailing it if it arrived too late, and that buddy 1 would just pick it up in a month or so when he's next in chicago.

i don't think buddy 1's gf is actually trying to get rid of him, but it would be a pretty awesome way of doing it.

other notes:

buddy 1 has this problem where when he starts dating a chick, he "moves too fast" at least mentally. 1st date and in his mind he's already figuring out the pattern for the china, etc. so late march he got dumped by this chick he was dating, in large part because of this fairly creepy kind of thought process. however, he had started dating singapore chick in february. has he learned his lesson? no. he has been dating singapore chick for like a week of "in same country" time, and already has planned a 3 day vacation to a different country with her.

It's good to be prepared, but some of that stuff you need to just keep in your head and not tell her about. Have it all planned out in your head before you (if you) approach that bridge with the girl.
