Hey guys,

Some news regarding rooms. As you know, we have a room reserved at the Pequot tower for Friday. From earlier:

[ QUOTE ]

Our room, which Drew informs me is a Deluxe with 2 beds at the Grand Pequot, has been booked for Friday the 15th. Total cost for that is $175.

5-ways that's $35 each.
6-ways that's ~$30 each.

[/ QUOTE ]

TexInAtl, good man that he is, managed to secure lodging at the Two Trees. He booked for Friday and Saturday. That gives us options. Stay at Pequot Friday night, switch on Saturday. Or take the Two Trees one for both nights.

In his own words:
[ QUOTE ]
TexInAtl: I just made a reservation for Friday and Saturday at the Two Trees at Foxwoods--$185 for Fri night. $215 for Sat night. $448 total w/tax. $90/person for 5 people.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, what do you guys think? Switch around and take the nicer, more convenient (and $10 less) room on Friday, or save the hassle and take the Two Trees for both nights?

Let me know.

It's nicer, closer, AND cheaper? Umm, I don't mind the hassle.

Guys, I'd like to arrange an AIM conference so that we can discuss and finalize plans for the lodging arrangements. I have AIM names for DM, Str, BBB, TPK, and Wook. If you're not included in this list and would like to participate, send me a PM with your AIM name.

I'd like to chat at 8:00PM tonight. Anyone can't make it or would like to suggest a better time, please speak up.

Thanks,

Tex

'Heroes' is on at 9-10. I have to go to Walmart beforehand. I can chat during Heroes, but why don't we just finalize it in this thread? My vote is for the closer, cheaper hotel... whichever that is.

Dude, you really need to start funding DVR service w/ your poker winnings. That's my plan for Heroes tonight. Feel free to join in with us in the OOT thread afterwards bitching about how great and awful this show is at the same time.

A two-part poll should settle everything:

Ok, well, I would still like to have an AIM conference. Say tonight at 10:00 (after Heros), but I'll give my feelings in this thread none the less.

The room that I have booked at the Two Trees is what they call a Junior Suite. It has 2 rooms. One room has 2 double beds. The other room has a fold-out sofa sleeper. The rate on that room is $185 for Fri and $215 for Sat.

The room that Drew has reserved for Friday night is only a single room with 2 double beds and there's no guarantee that we'll even be able to stay at the Grand Pequot on Saturday.

I talked to the reservationist at Foxwoods again. They informed me that the Two Trees has sold out after my reservation from this morning (although I don't know that I entirely belive this). Staying at the Two Trees will cost $75/person for both nights including tax (split 6 ways). Also, if we do decide to switch rooms, that means checking out by 12 and not being able to check back into a different room until 4.

Although the Junior Suite is slightly more expensive than the Deluxe room, my vote is for the Junior Suite because of the combination of more space and not having to check-out until Sunday. I'm even willing to split Sunday night if someone is interested, but that will be completely separate.

The other question is how to pay for it? My suggestion would be to have everyone transfer funds to me (i.e. through intra-account transfers on FTP or Stars), and I will use my CC to pay for the room. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm all ears, but I would like to have the room paid for prior to arrival.

Comments, concerns, suggestions?

Holla
