So, it sounds like your intuition was right at the time (i.e. this is *bad*).
That said, I would have tried to be calmer after she hung up. You're engaged, have a daughter, etc. There's always an outside chance that there's a reasonable explanation. If there's a good explanation, it's way better to find it out before the yelling and screaming starts. If there's not a reasonable explanation, well, putting off the foaming-at-the-mouth anger for 5 minutes is just fine. I'm sorry if this turned out as bad as it sounds. |

[ QUOTE ]
Alright, my advice is to leave and drink at this point, or break the door down, have a huge fight, find out she's cheating (for real), then leave and drink. What happens next? [/ QUOTE ] Next: I give a couple kicks into the door (its sturdy), I immediately start unhooking [censored] in the living room that is mine. I start with the computer monitor (lcd flatscreen, the computer is hers, but the I just bought the monitor). I try to take the TV but its too big to fit in my Honda Civic with a car seat and golf clubs in the back, so I end up grabbing the DVD/VCR player). She finally unlocks the bedroom door.. I go in, keep asking who the [censored] that was, she doesnt give me any answers. I start throwing some clothes into a gym bag.. I tell her I'm taking our daughter. She says I'm not, and threatens to call the police. I decide it's not a good idea to be driving around steaming with my daughter in the car so she stays. It's not likely the police were going to give her to me anyway. I throw the [censored] in my car and take off... To Be Continued.. |

Wow, I think every single decision you've made so far has been wrong.
Edit: Except for not taking your daughter. That would have been a mess. |

Shouting at her probably isn't the greatest way to get to the bottom of it but it should be pretty clear that you got hosed. So sorry about that.
How does custody of the kid work out in these situations where you're not married but you're both the parents of the kid? Figuring out the best way to a) not [censored] your daughter over and b) not have her taken away would be the main thing on my mind right now. I would consider talking to somebody with legal expertise on this front. |
