My friend (well known online player) is a strong advocate of folding and talked to Scott Fischman and The Grinder on IM about this hand.

Scott says Fold. Grinder says 70% fold, 30% call.

He also posted it on P5s and the majority there say fold. (please lets not get in to your opinion of that site)

Why do two such prominent and successful players fold here, and all the 2+2ers say call?

Ask Phil Ivey what he would do.

Because the average 2+2er plays better WITH SHORT STACKS than a lot of well known pros. (Case in point, poker superstars 2.) Pros make up for this by playing so much better when stacks are deeper. Also, they probably overestimate their edge in this kind of tournament.

Steve

Note: Both are clearly better players than me, etc. etc.

pusher is any kind of decent player, the only hand you're beating (and a hand with which he would push) is AJ

He also likes James Taylor, so that just reinforces his quality, IMO...

BTW using P5s as "unanimous" evidence of a fold really doesn't convince me.

It really amazes me how people twist what other say in these forums.

you need to read twice and read slowly. then read two more times. maybe that'll help your comprehension.

and FWIW, I haven't mentioned what I think is the right play, I just mentioned I feel strongly about it.

wasn't it mentioned in the other thread that you called?

edit: if that's not true, i'm going to feel like an idiot after your reading comprehension thing.

If you polled every internet poker forum, they would say, 10xBB is when push/fold becomes standard.

Funny you say this.

Go to pocketfives where my friend posted this hand.

That forum is almost unanimous in it being a fold.

I've read it. Twice.

I still say call. I still say P5s are largely buffoons that exists primarily to ride jocks. But that's just my opinion.

Wtf was twisted? Explain. And he was referring to the poster Ari with the James Taylor comment, not to you.

man u really don't read well do you? english is not your first language clearly.

notice the word THAT in front of the sentence? It means almost all of the responses on P5s say fold.

that is a far far cry from me saying there is "unanimous evidence" for a fold.
