Then they have to deal with people like O'Neil at higher limits.

[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, O'Neil was just playing in the 20/40 O8 game the other day (I was at the must-move). If you consider 20/40 higher limits, than I have played in the "big game," (50/100), LOL

Yes, I am teasing you. But I also think that 20/40 O8 game would be hell to deal. Those players are the nittiest, creepiest hellions I've seen in a long time. Ick. I don't even like sitting next to them.

Jeez, I'm about to make some enemies here...

Um, not ALL of them, just some, lol.

Hi Randy:

The only figure he gave was $18 for the down. That sounds fairly good to me.

best wishes,
Mason

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe the $18 a down was a top figure. If they are getting good dealers this would be a rather low down for a top dealer.

O'Neil has 3 WSOP bracelets and regularly plays 200/400 mix games. I consider that higher limits.

I play up to 50/100 NL, but I also play 4/8 limit on occassions.

Is a redbird per player at the end too much to ask?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. It's way too much. Now you want to make $100 per hour and your job, even when it is well done just isn't worth that much.

The problem with your whole argument is that you want to have a minimum guarantee at each table you deal. When working for tips it doesn't work that way. You need to decide if you're happy with your overall wage at the end of the week, month, year, etc. If you're not, then look for another job.

Best wishes,
Mason

Hi Fish:

I won't dispute you here. Many years ago I was on the receiving end of a tirade of one of the players you mention, so I know where you're coming from. On the other hand, I also believe that all of these people have cleaned their act up a good deal from what it once was.

If they are a problem, you should speak to your cardroom manager. I don't think this stuff will be tolerated by him.

best wishes,
Mason

Hi Fuji:

Unfortunately I'm too public of a figure to do this. It could cause problems for not only myself but this site as well.

But I will say that much rude behavior has been cleaned up over the years. While some of these players certainly don't behave perfectly, they all pretty much do now behave reasonably well. Many years ago that was not the case.

best wishes,
Mason

Hi Fish:

Thanks for the post.

I remember reading a few years ago, mostly on RGP, where there seemed to be a campaign going on agaist me in particular and Two Plus Two Publishing in general about how I never tipped, about how badly I acted at the tables, and my complete lack of social skill. So I do appreciate someone stating what's more accurate.

Best wishes,
Mason

Hi Randy:

My argument is that $18 a down is a good living. If a good dealer does better than that, that's great. But the thrust of my argument is that most people would be very happy with a wage at that level.

Best wishes,
mason

Part of the reason it is more stress is that the ultra high limit players, just like I do, insist on competent dealers. This means no extraneous talking in the box, paying attention to the game, following all procedures properly, etc. Caesar's, like most new rooms, has problems in this area. Fortunately, as this thread shows, they are aware of it and I expect improvement there over time.

[/ QUOTE ]

This seems like it was very poorly thought out. Why not put it right up front like the Moss - Nick the Greek match? I figured something like this would be used to generate interest. Why they would stick it in a corner is beyond me...

Definitely it is. $36/hour plus minimum (or better) wage for dealing cards? Certainly can't complain about that!
