[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Look at his results in top fields like the WPT championship, or any event with a top heavy field. [/ QUOTE ] like the tournament of champions or the national heads-up championship???? [/ QUOTE ] How about one he EARNED his way into? [/ QUOTE ] wtf does that have to do with it? and what does it even mean? |

So who's earned a legitimate bracelet then? Either Phil won them when there were no players, or he won them when there were tons of donks?
So was there a year where the player-donk ratio satisfies anyone? Or is last year's HORSE the only legitimate WSOP bracelet ever? |

WPT events are tougher to win as most of these WSOP events are filled with online donks that got there by satellites. [/ QUOTE ] Bahahahahaha. WPT events aren't exactly fish-free these days. |

I think one thing that people aren't taking into account is the amount of tournies these top guys play. For example I remember Johny Chan saying somewhere that he took a bunch of years off from the WSOP and hardly plays any preliminary events at all. I think I heard Doyle has kept a light schedule as well. So they might have one less bracelet, but if Phil has played 3 times as many WSOP events as them, what does that say? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not convinced the gap in events played is that large. And on the other side of the fence, Doyle's main event bracelets were in fields of 22 and 34.. and one of his other bracelets is mixed doubles which was an even smaller field. There's also a 2-7 draw bracelet (always small fields) I'm a lot more impressed with Hellmuth's WSOP record. |

You are obviously new to following poker...Phil has done it for about 20 years...JC Tran is obv the hottest player going now, but has never won a 10k buyin and hasnt sustained even 10 percent the time period as Helmuth....and Nam Le is good and all but you cant be serious putting him ahead of Helmuth

I actually laughed out loud when I read those two guys being better than Phil. |

I totally agree. What is he supposed to do...LOSE? Then what would we say? Phil is the best Tournament Holdem player....Bar none. Not JC TRan...not Nam Le, Not Negreanu or Ivey(as much as we all love em)Phil has been crushing since there were managable size fields stacked with pros, and the thousands filled with donk fields. He has the records to back it up. Sure i think Chan has a more impressive Bracelet resume, but the question is tournament holdem player, and that obviously goes to Phil
