the rest are the same exact player, and the same exact player dusty has been stockpiling his whole career - fast, versatile, black players that can't get on base. Tom F. Goodwin, anyone?

The games are just hilarious to watch right now. It's a beautiful trainwreck.

I hate to pile on, but the Cubs have provided me so much entertainment this year already that I feel I owe them a few beers.

They swept the Cards earlier this year and I was quite bummed. I was talking to my father (a Cubs fan) who said that I shouldn't be concerned and the sad fact is that the Cubs had achieved their season highlight and their season peak already. I thought he was nuts. I forgot that he has 50+ years of Cubs support behind him and knows the script all to well.

It is really painful to watch the Cubs right now... but I guess that's what you can expect when three of your five starters and your best offensive player is on the DL. Aram has been a huge disappointment this year... hopefully he can turn things around. Maybe that ball that knocked him on the head will help him?!?!

I would like to think that things can only get better... but I have a feeling the upcoming 10-game road trip will blow this theory out of the water. Who will get reinjured first... Wood or Prior?

The Cubs should do a lot better now with K-Wood's bat in the lineup. Maybe he can play in the field and hit cleanup between starts and between stints on the DL.

It is really painful to watch the Cubs right now... but I guess that's what you can expect after making such stellar off-season moves as signing Jacque Jones, John Mabry , Neifi Perez & Glendon Rusch in favor of Preston Wilson, Rafeal Furcal, Nomar Garciapara & a starting pitcher

Cubs are saved! Look out Cardinals, Cubs acquired PHIL NEVIN! Sadly we had to part with pinch-hitting expert Jerry Hairston Jr.

Agreed. What a great deal by the Cubs! Bravo! Things are turning around. I'm glad someone in the front office was just notified that Lee went on the DL 6 weeks ago. I'm sure Nevin is pleased as punch to get in 3 weeks of baseball before riding the pine for the remainder of the year.
