Went to the Giants game tonight, and comfortably wore short sleeves for the whole game, past 8 p.m. Who says global warming is all bad?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's May.

It was snowing in NY in April.

z32, how did the pros playing SNGs on FTP go for you?

[/ QUOTE ]

They didn't play many today, I think I lost like $2500 today at SNGs, very annoying.

[/ QUOTE ]

At least your making me feel better. I decided there's nothing more crushing in poker than making a bad push, then watching someone make an even worse call and having them suck out with K7o against A6s. Full Tilt is severely rigged lately.

Lately?

Wow party just flipped the doomswitch on my account ....... I just went from 9 tables to 1 in a matter of about 2 minutes, getting rivered every pot .... and the scenarios they created for me to lose were [censored] hilarious. In situations like this I think it is a sign for me to go to bed, although I will be pissed that I just [censored] away my days profits. On the other hand, the players are playing SO BAD that it is tempting. Im goign to bed. What is the standard line here though?

Alright, so I post here from time to time. Only really talk to a couple of you on aim or pm. I would like to talk to more of you, but I was never really around when most of you played SNG's so it feels like I'm out of the loop.

I think I need some advice. Basically, I have never really been a winner at any games online. I played like 1k sngs, pretty much break even, the rake wins. I've been trying cash games for 2-3 months, but only 10nl online.

I've reloaded probably 7 or 8 times over the 1+ year I have been playing online poker, probably down about 750 bucks. I'm up about 1500 playing at Foxwoods at 200NL over 8 or so visits.

I dont know if it's I am not taking the game seriously playing 10nl online, when I play 200NL live. It might be I am trying to win more than what is realistically possible (8-10 BB/100), and it doesn't feel like I am really winning if I only accomplish .80 cents an hour playing 10NL. It could be I am making a handful of mistakes that I overlook on a daily basis. I try to post and get advice, but the micro forums are a joke.

Should I look to deposit 1k or 2k online and hire a coach? Should I review and study my game and just take a few months off playing online, just sticking to live play? I am completely frustrated that I can't even be a marginal winner at online poker. I see so many new players on here winning instantly, with only a few posts. Maybe its my ADD that is to blame? Maybe because I work 40+ hours a week and go to school full time for past 2 years, and I try to play when Im exhausted? I have no clue. Any advice is appreciated.

playing exhausted is -EV .
are you playing with a poorly managed bankroll?
can you afford to put a few thousand dollars into a site (aka, afford to lose it)?

I could put 1000 or 1500 online, and maybe hire a coach depending on the deal.

Before I posted on 2+2, I used poor BR strategy to play sngs. I deposited 40-50 the first 4 times. I tried to beat 5.50 and 11 sngs with 5 or 10 buyins. I understood after I joined 2+2 that my BR strategy was pretty unrealistic.

Cash games, I had 20 buyins for 10nl. I took at shot at 25nl a few weeks ago and lost a buyin. This week I lost about 6 buyins over a few sessions, and this weekend I drunkenly ended up taking a shot at 100nl with last 100.

I honestly made a serious attempt at 10nl for a couple months, but I didn't do very well.

I do think a part of it is playing when I am exhausted, due to thats the only down time I have. I think you can relate bc I know you grind a sick amount of hands out at the limits you play with a busy schedule.

One way to look at poker when you are playing stakes where the money doesnt mean anything is that you are just playing that level so you can get to a higher level (and learn a little on the way). Id say play NL10 with 20 buyins, wait til you get that up to 20 buyins of NL25 and then move up. dont look at it like making a less than desired amount of money, look at it as trying to accomplish a goal. at some point along the line the money will become something that is worth caring about to you

(you can play with a deeper roll if you choose, the #s here were mostly just to give you the picture)
