Yucca Mountain and [censored].

trying to figure out what you could have said here that got censored.

Also, Hoover Dam would also be a good U.S. nomination.

One of the articles I read says that Statue of Liberty is towards the bottom in total votes.

btw, where are the f*cking pyramids? they were built 500-1000 years BC. It is estimated that the Giza plateau took about 400 years to complete.

The Pyramids of Giza - Egypt - 8 04%

I read somewhere that Egyptian officials complained about having to compete for a spot on this list, since the pyramids are the only one of the original seven wonders still in existence. Now I think they are guaranteed a spot and the voting is to decide the seven "new" wonders of the world.

econo - I read the same thing. Indeed they are 'guaranteed' a spot no matter what. They were quite insulted that the only remaining wonder from the original 7 somehow has to be voted in again.

is everyone serious with the statue of liberty?
Seriously, lol at the statue of liberty.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see why not. I mean as far as voting it for the "'merica! [censored] YEA!" factor, yes that sucks. However, it's really the only thing in the modern world that I can come up with off the top of my head that is comparable to the Colossus of Rhodes.

Acropolis, Taj Mahal, Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Hagia Sophia, Chichen Itza, The Eiffel Tower, The Great Wall of China, Petra, and the Statue of liberty for me.

I think it’s ridiculous that the Statue of liberty is on here... Also, I thought that Tikal in Guatemala was better than Chichen Itza… but, whatever.

Voting:

Taj Mahal, Angor, Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Hagi Sophia, Great Wall, Colloseum would be my votes…. Although Petra, Acropolis, and Easter Island could be there too.

i don't really get the statue of liberty hate. I'm not really up to date on my enormous free-standing statuary, but are there other things that are at all comparable? The thing is like 300 feet tall including the base, and it's a hugely important cultural symbol. What more are you looking for in a world wonder?
