Cy Young is the answer, but nobody mentioned the right record.

749 complete games.

Oh wtf. Juste Fontain scoring 13 goals in one World Cup (ranked 3rd all-time just from that cup, behind Ronaldo and Gerd Müller)

I could see it.

It would have to be a very top team and they would have to get a draw with two easy teams and a third that isn't very good. In that situation, because the WC has such unbalanced matches, I could see a guy getting 9 or 10 goals in the group stage and then adding another 3 or 4 from there to the final.

The main problem with this is that most likely they would clinch and the star would sit out that last group stage game. Eh, you're probably right.

Why do people keep saying this? Bonds, Pujols, and A-Rod each have a shot at it. This, like milk, was a bad choice.

I assumed they were joking since it is so obviously it will be broken someday.
If they were serious then they are idiots.

Wow, yeah this is the one. I also like the Tatis record because being in the situation of hitting three times in an inning is rare, add that to having the bases loaded each time, add that to hitting a home rune each time = impossible.
My friend suggested that Randy Johnson's record of most birds killed with a fastball in an inning is pretty safe as well.
