Most unbeatable record
 

Is there a more unbeatable record than Cy Young's record for most losses of 316? I know there are a lot of records that people say are unbeatable but this has got to be at the top. There are few people that will win 300 games these days much less lose 300. His wins record is equally impressive. However, there could be some superhuman kid come in and be completly dominant and has like a 110mph fastball, a 70 mph change-up, and a curve with a break of like 3 feet and win 500 games. I just don't think a team would sign a guy with 200 losses.

With starters only pitching every five days, baseball has changed greatly. Is there, in the other 3 major sports, something that has made some records totally unbreakable?

I guess if you found a pretty good pitcher who spent his whole career in Kansas City (like 20+ years), it might be doable. I can't imagine that anyone would put up with that though.

I think it's fairly likely that at some point in the future pitchers started throwing a lot more innings than they do now, which would make that record attainable.

I seriously doubt anyone will ever beat Fernando Tatis or Johnny Van Der Meer's records though.

well neither is going to happen. but records that take 1 hour to break are generally easier than records that will take 30 years to break.

2 consecutive no hitters. To beat it you'd have to throw 3 in a row.

Career pitching wins and losses records are so unbreakable it's almost not even worth discussing.

What's more interesting are single season records. What's the most unbreakable single season record?

Wilt's 50.4 ppg?
Wilt's 27.2 rpg?
Gretzky's 92 goals?
Gretzky's 163 assists?
Gretzky's 215 points?
