I for one have no problem with anyone who ranks Michigan ahead of Auburn. WV is a different story.

not who I'd vote for in an AP method
not any ranking equation

from what i've seen with my very own 2 eyes

took my name out of the title as it was too egotistical and tdarko did a better job at carrying the last thread than me anyway

1. Ohio State up 1 as they win a big game on the road rather easily against a #13 team that played well and Auburn really struggled
2. Auburn down 1 from last week--made South Carolina's offense look good
3. LSU up 1--continues to dominate offensively and defensively...very rounded team
4. USC down 1--injury issues and its offense is looking shaky
5. Louisville the same--off-week before putting up 70 on MTSU
6. Michigan up 2--offense remains a balanced show. Defense proved it's not a fluke by shutting down Wisconsin and Minnesota back-2-back. Needs Breaston to step up or Manningham to run more than a go route to move up IMO.
7. Texas down 1--creamed a cream puff. This weekend is a true barometer to see how far they've come since tOSU.
8. Florida down 1--beat Bama as expected. We'll see how Leak handles pressure this week. Injury to Wynn hurts.
9. West Virginia same--off-week, let's see how they do verse Miss St.
10. Tennessee new--demolished a nobody. Has the best win and toughest loss of any of the one loss teams. Get to prove themselves again this weekend

dropped out-Georgia
they just don't have the offense

Sagarin ratings by conference:

1 - Pac-10
2 - Big-10
3 - SEC
4 - Big 12

the computers are probably wrong though, i'm sure 5 of the top 11 teams in the country are from the SEC, and 4 from the other top 3 conferences.

yeah, wtf..?

I'm sorry OP but if you had Auburn ranked ahead of tOSU at anytime this season then you're a moron.

Aren't the computers usually much less accurate with a limited data set?

SEC also has some god awful teams too.

Auburn + Florida = Solid Teams
Tennesee + LSU = 2nd tier, but very good teams (LSU loses points for having Les "Choke" Miles

Bama + SC + UGA = 3rd tier, ok teams, can upset someone decent on a good week

Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas = Garbage teams

I wouldn't label Arkansas garbage. Probaby a tier in between your 3rd & your garbage teams.

Anyways, I think LSU will unfortunately prove they are worthy of your "solid" title this week.

I don't trust the Sagarin ratings until it says "connected". That beeing said, I think when you take into account performance and strength of schedule, the Pac 10 is going to come out on top. It is cinched by the Pac 10 playing an extra conference game while everyone else loads up on non conference patsies.

MyTurn,

Perhaps you would be better off rating the teams in tiers instead of a 1-10 style ranking. Judging from your posts, I'm sure you feel the difference between OSU and Auburn is bigger than the difference between Auburn and Michigan. Tiers is the usually the best way to handle this. Another option would be grades.
