[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] All right, with Larry Johnson having a bye this week, I have some tough decisions at RB - I picked up Gado hoping he turns in a big week so I can trade him, but I think the question is really between Jacobs and Bell. [/ QUOTE ] Some of you guys are really stretching the definition of "tough" with these questions. Bell is likely to get close to three times as many touches as Jacobs is. Jacobs does get his share of goal-line carries, but in most leagues, starting a guy just on the chance he gets a short-yardage TD is a last resort. Bell is the clear choice. -McGee [/ QUOTE ] I really don't think so - given that Jacobs is getting 6 or 7 touches a game, and that Bell is starting against a good defense on the road and also seems to get no goal line carries, I think it's a tougher decision than you give it credit for being. Also a player has to rush for 120 yards to equal 1 TD in this league. [/ QUOTE ] It's early in the season, but Seattle's D is second against the run (New England is no slouch either, at ninth), and both the Giants and the Broncos are playing on the road. So the advantage there, if any, goes to Bell. If you think Jacobs is more likely to score on his ~7 touches than Bell on his ~18 touches, then yeah, I guess this makes for a tough decision. But given Bell's demonstrated ability to break long runs and the fact that he'll touch the ball at least twice as often as Jacobs, I don't see how you can make that case. -McGee |

[ QUOTE ]
Help me out. B. Johnson against Bears or pick up Frye against Baltimore. Pretty much screwed either way. [/ QUOTE ] Johnson, particularly if you'd have to drop a player with any sort of value to add Frye. -McGee |

Not a week specific question, but a roster question.
In my dynasty league, I've been aiming for youth over the last two years, trading away TO (just before last year started, Anyway, looking for comments on my roster -- what position is weakest (either in short-term production or long-term upside), what players should I try to ditch for value now, what players should I consider "off-limits?" In a 12 team dynasty league, where rosters can reach as high as 27 players, how do you think I should fare over the next few years? REGULAR ROSTER QB Jake Delhomme, CAR QB Jake Plummer, DEN QB Chad Pennington, NYJ RB Brian Westbrook, PHI RB Carnell Williams, TB RB Frank Gore, SF RB Julius Jones, DAL RB Michael Turner, SD ** RB Domanick Davis, HOU (on IR) WR Larry Fitzgerald, ARI WR Darrell Jackson, SEA WR Joe Horn, NO WR Drew Bennett, TEN WR Marques Colston, NO TE Todd Heap, BAL TE Jermaine Wiggins, MIN K Matt Stover, BAL K Lawrence Tynes, KC RESERVE ROSTER QB Aaron Rodgers, GB QB Sage Rosenfels, HOU QB Josh McCown, DET RB Josh Scobey, SEA WR Derek Hagan, MIA WR Devery Henderson, NO WR Brandon Williams, SF * Note: Players can only be put on the reserve roster by being drafted in the rookie draft. Reserves can't be started unless they're moved up to the regular roster, which means someone would have to be cut. |

In a league that scores 6 pts/TD and 1 pt/20 yds rushing
LT is on bye so my RBs are: Ronnie Brown vs TEN and Maroney vs Den or Parker vs Cin |

Maroney obv the worst option. I think a case could be made for Brown playing against the Titans though. Should get plenty of carries running clock against a terrible defense.

madtown,
i was assuming the meant you were starting brown and the question was who the backup should be. if you only pick one of those guys, i agree brown might be a better choice. |
