Stars will enforce the chop if someone agrees to it in chat and doesn't come through. Or support will come in and do it for you.

I don't see any problems with a chip chop, or always straight chop with the same person if chips are basically equal. But an agreement to always chop even HU, regardless of chip count is obviously collusion.

Does stars actually facilitate a SNG chop?! If so that's ridiculous.

Both go all in winner transfers the split.

This I did not know, I've only chopped once. I was glad it was up to me to transfer.

I hear what you're saying about chip count chopping or chopping if you're even in chips, but that doesnt work either. If I had an agreement to even chop with someone whenever HU, we could easily just get HU then dump until we were even in chips, THEN chop just to make it look better. This is probably unlikely to happen, but if you wanted to be careful this is how you'd do it.

Chip dumping is still collusion at any point any time. Just because you're willing to chop HU with even chips doesn't mean you're going to chip dump to get there.

So if chopping at the end of an MTT is definitely ok, but not ok for SNGs, where do you draw the line? Is an 18-man ok to chop? 27? 45? 90?

suzzer,

chopping on the whole no one has a problem with. it's a beforehand agreed forced chop that people have a problem with. similarly people have issues with playing in the same mtt as someone you own/split a % of or back.

Ok, let's say player X and I always do a chip chop if we wind up HU together. No forced agreement, we just both like to chop. Is that kosher or not?

Thinking about this thread- I agree chopping should be banned. I'm not saying I won't take it if it's to my advantage, but it lends itself to morally wrong situations, like someone chopping down 3-1 in chips. And it would be easy for Stars to monitor via chatting and seeing when and how much is transferred. You couldn't completely stop it between friends, but you could greatly reduce it, and that would probably be a good thing.

And yeah, like Cit said, chopping itself is not the problem at all, but only agreements that affect play.
