Sorry for the confusion. People will be able to reply as of right now. I will listen to posters as to how they want to run this. But as of now posters will be able to reply but not create threads.

There are a lot donks who play in major tournaments, and they sometimes make the final tables. I don't see why they shouldn't be able to post hands.

I do think it is preferable to make a division based on poster than based on buyin. Also, I can see that there might be obnoxious posters and it is easier to require permission than to ban people from posting.

I wonder how much problem with bad OPs there would be without these restrictions.

The new forum isn't for high stakes necessarily, it's for good posters to discuss higher thought processes about tournament poker. The problem with saying that is that no one can determine for themselves if their post warrants being in the special forum. If someone posts a hand that asks a simple question, off to the other forum it goes.

I agree with not making it about stakes. It is really hard to define compare stakes online versus live and rebuy versus freezeout. It is also not clear someone is a more advanced player if he plays higher buyin.

I agree with moving elementary questions to the other forum, but I am not sure you need an approved posters list.

This thread is very long and I don't feel like reading it all. But I will say I think splitting the forum is a great idea.

Justin and other mods,

I am with Exitonly on this one, I think a simple buyin split like the (NL and L) Hold Em forums use would be sufficient. That being said, I don't mind trying out the invite method, hopefully either path takes everyone to the same destination. Thanks for listening to the community, I look forward to seeing the new forum.

Note - I think the sticky should be updated to more clearly state the fact that anyone can reply to threads, just not create. I am pretty sure that is the situation from what I read a couple pages back.

As long as I can read the new forum I'm down. It will be nice for the serious high stakes guys, I'll be there sooner then later. Thanks for the MTTc board, really good [censored].

this is fine and the 'posting threads by invite only' is fine, but there should be a thread in the new forum linked to from the FAQ that people can post in to get approved. this is especially true right now since lots of people will be posting WSOP hands in a month.
