[ QUOTE ] Why would you want to carry 20-30 dollar coins? Isn't that like carrying $5 in quarters now? [/ QUOTE ] does OP regularly carry 20-30 dollar bills? [/ QUOTE ] seriously, outside of going to a stripclub, or being a waiter(or stripper for that matter) who ever has more than 5-10 1's on hand at a time |

[ QUOTE ]
Even more sensible would be a total elimination of pennies. If we needed to track transactions to 1/100th of a dollar 100 years ago, and a dollar is worth around 1/20th of what it used to be, we should be rounding to the nearest 5 cents now. The cost of producing pennies is a huge waste of time and money. [/ QUOTE ] The price of zinc just recently made it such that a penny's material value is greater than $.01. |

[ QUOTE ] They then need to bring back the $2 bill [/ QUOTE ] It's never left, in fact making a comeback. [/ QUOTE ] Whenever I have to go to the bank teller, I always clean them out of $2 bills. I love paying for stuff with them and getting weird looks. I once split a cab with a Canadian friend and gave hima couple of $2 bills and he thought they were fake. |

There should definitely not be a $1 bill, it's the most ridiculous thing ever. Everywhere else in the world has $3-10 as their lowest bill with coins below that. Then agian, most countries don't have something a worthless as a penny either.
It really isn't that complicated of a system to get right, why the USA still has dollar bills and pennies (and even nickels) is beyond me. Also, you don't keep the coins in your pocket, you keep them in your wallet. |
