Just go with what the majority wants.

Now the house rules are subject to democracy?

Exactly, house rules. Some houses suck, though. I think we have a fun set of rules.

We usually don't allow bounces, but if we don't say anything about it before the game and somebody does go for a bounce we'll play the rest of the time with bounces. You can swat a bounce, even if it's a girl throwing.

Both players on a team go. If they sink both balls, they get them back. If they get it in the same one, it's that cup + 2 of their choice + a send back. We play pull cup, though, so you can pull the cup once it goes in. If it hits your hand though, it's a cup of their choice + they get that one ball back for another shot (not both balls).

If you play vs. me, I'll let bitches blow and guys finger, but if it's me and my good friend who usually partners with me, he says no.

Nudies on. If we sink all of your cups before you sink one of ours, you do a lap around the house/dorm/whatever naked.

We don't make people drink whatever we sink before they can shoot. However, this lets us put on the rule that if you're holding a cup in your hand and a ball goes into, it's game over.

Finally, we've added a fun rule called the Ben Wallace. Once per game, a team is allowed to Ben Wallace. You Ben Wallace by shouting Ben Wallace and swatting the ball out of the air (you know, rejection). Only one Ben Wallace per team, not per player. The best time to use it is as early in the rack when one player has already made it in and you want to prevent a sendback. Other people like to wait until there aren't many cups left, so they can use it when it's down to 1 or 2 to prevent game over.

Finally, the end game. When there are 2 cups left...if my partner sinks one cup and you pull it, and I sink the other, we win no redemption. With one cup left, if he sinks one, you leave it, but pull the ball. If I sink it too, game over, no redemption. If, however, we sink the last cup but don't get two in on the same turn, opponents are allowed a chance at redemption, no matter how many cups left on our side. Our redemption works that one player gets to shoot the ball until they miss a cup. As you get them in, we pull them. Once one person misses, if you're girls, we let you re-rack if it's at a re-rack number, if you're guys, no dice. The other person goes until they miss. If they manage to get every cup, we go to a 3 cup overtime which plays like normal. The team that didn't have to redeem themselves goes first.

Damn, that's long.

EDIT: Oh yeah, you get to rerack as many times as you want as long as it's on a re-rack number. 10, 6, 4, 3, and 2. No reracking between partners.

Also, we don't play with airballs anymore, but some people play that if you miss the table and cups completely, it's a cup off your side. Others play two airballs in a row, and it's a cup. This is a bit of a silly rule, but you might want to try it out.

I always played that bouncing and blowing were allowed, provided that with bouncing, once the ball hits the ground, the other team can grab it, and with blowing, you can't attempt to blow it out until it hits a cup.

So 58% of you don't have a double back rule? Disgusting.

The rules we use in our house:

-no bounces
-to start the game, players on both sides look eachother in the eyes and shoot at cups and it alternates between partners until one side hits
-if the first person to shoot hits, he keeps shooting. If first person misses second shot, it switches to the other side. If first person hits second shot, he/she keeps shooting and when they miss, their partner still gets one shot. If first person misses first shot, and the partner hits his shot, they don't get to shoot again, switches to other side
-for defense you can block the view of the cups, and swat away rebounds, but can't touch the ball before it hits the cups or it counts as a hit cup. Also no blatant throwing at the defender. Blowing the ball out is allowed, but can't use your hand to try to grab it out of the cup.

That's about it, these are the only rules I've ever played with and they seem to work pretty well.

Yes. We do this too. Eye to eye is a good way to decide who gets to go first, but after that, if the winner of the previous game has stayed on the table, they go first.

My rules were:

If you bounce it, it can be swatted unless it's a chick then she can bounce.
Both go per turn, you both make it, bring em back.
Bitches blow
Make it in the same cup as your partner, it's auto win, whether the cup is still on the table or is in the opponents hand and not finished

[/ QUOTE ]

I play with these rules too, except you can swat a chicks bounce too.

Sigh. Ok guys. Here are the rules for you. If you're ever come to our house, they're posted on the wall.

511 BEER PONG RULES ver. 1.01

• 6 Cups in a 3-2-1 triangle, with 2 beers used.

• Only one consolidation per game. Must be done before the start of a turn.

• If this is a 10 cup game, use 4 beers in a 4-3-2-1 triangle, and you get 2 consolidations to use at your discretion. All other rules are the same.

• In order for a shot to be valid, the shooter’s elbow must be behind the white line at all times. An invalid shot is treated as a miss regardless of result, and there is no redo.

• If bounced, a ball can be deflected. If the ball goes in, that cup and another one of the defenders’ choice is taken. If the ball bounces off a defender, it counts as a 2-cup shot.

• If a team makes both shots, they receive another turn. At this time, a consolidation may take place.

• If a ball is hit by a defending team in the air, a cup is taken of the defenders’ choice. The ball does not go back to the thrower.

• If a cup is knocked over, the cup is out of play. This is technically not a made shot.

• Once the ball is in the cup, it stays. There is NO blowing, fingering, etc. unless there is a unanimous decision by all players that this pussy action will be tolerated.

• A made cup is kept on the table until the end of a turn.

• By tradition, if someone Bozo’s before the first shot of a game, it’s customary, but not required, to put a dollar in the last cup. If that team wins, the keep the dollar.

• ABSOLUTELY NO REBUTTLES

• Loser gets the beer for the next game.

• No excuses. Play like a champion.

Bouncing is allowed, but they can be swatted. If a bounce shot goes in, it is worth two cups.

Both players on a team shoot per turn. If they both make it, they get both balls back to shoot again.

Bitches blow.
