i agree, imo thats a set or some wired bluff often enough to make calling profitable.

At first I thought easy fold, but how often does he have JJ here or AA with Ac? Anyhow, I can lay it down or call, depending on my feel for the situation.

Villian opened for 5x BB UTG, seems to make 99 or 77 (or even JJ) more likely than anything with two clubs, information about his play notwithstanding.
I don't understand how he could just call the turn with that hand though. On the other hand, just calling the 2K with a draw, unless its Ac9c or maybe AcKc, doesn't seem too swift either. I agree with what someone else said, if you don't call, you're playing scared, but I'd expect my ev to be only slightly positive in the long run here. |

Yeah, the more I think about his, the generic play is call, and that's what you have to do until you have a better feel for this guy's play. I also think his considering pushing the turn speaks for the call.
One thing I will say about his considering the turn raise: Your flop raise was awfully big, and (if he's good) he could have just been testing the waters to see how you looked given the possibility of a raise. I don't think that test excludes AKs by any means, but it also doesn't exclude an overpair. If you lose, you lose, but with the info you have, I think you need to call. |
