On the turn you are giving him over 3:1 odds to hit his flush draw if that is what he has. He almost has immediate odds to call right there and he is right to do so. Definitely bet more on turn. I can't fold the river.

[ QUOTE ]
Villain is a weak and passive. I'm positive he paired the ace here... [/ QUOTE ] I don't know that he has an Ace. Villians do some funky stuff at NL10, though. What Ace did he call down with? AK? Maybe A9. I call the river. |

I understand what you were trying to do with the bets, but I think you should bet more in both cases as opponents at these levels are highly unlikely to fold a good flush/straight or combo draw. at least .75 on the flop.
Your turn bet is so thin on punishing villain for calling with just a flush draw, youd have to fold any river where the flush completed to deny him the implied odds to make that call profitable. all he has to make is .60 off you on the river to make it break even. I play at this level right now and I always make flop bets very near the pot, then turn bets around 2/3 - 3/4 and maybe more if there are many possible draws. River is good, you induce a missed draw to stab the pot. |
