PA might be forced into an 'arms race.' I think the casinos will want table games once WV legalizes them. Slots alone won't be much of a draw when they can go to WV and do it all.

4 2 it, why do we need to wait?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd prefer not wait, believe me. Right now PA gets over 50% of the slots profits. I think AC casinos pay around 10% for table games. I can't see why casinos would want them right away.

I think that they need to be able to show that attendance is not meeting demand before they can make a decent case to add table games.

I hope I'm wrong......

There are currently 2 resort licenses that are going to be up for grabs. No one currently wants one without the table games. All bidders have dropped out at this point.

Who wants to goto a resort without table games?

All I can ever think about is how much money the casino companies estimate that they can suck out of the state, if they're willing to pay 50% taxes.

Is that on gross revenues, or pre-tax net? Anyone know?

The Latest:

O'Brien, a republican, was elected as speaker of the House. He was nominated by DeWeese, of all people, and it is expected that he will switch parties.

The Dem turncoat, Caltagirone, sat with Republicans during the voting.

I wonder if O'Brien agreed to push for table games? Yeah, right!

Ugh, I hope this doesn't hurt the hope for Rendell's other policies getting through.

www.pagamingnews.com

Keeps track of news reports from Pa, Md., and WVa.

An interesting piece regrading WVA.

I find it so hypocritical that the feds work to ban internet poker which does not have a negative impact on communitites, while the state govt in Pa decides to put slot machines in the city. Is it there hope to have the Philly waterfront look like AC? Maybe if we are lucky, all the businesses that are there now will be replaced by pawn shops and motels with hourly rates.
