I would enjoy poker more, if I found more honesty in the games. [/ QUOTE ] I think the majority of people would. Things aren't perfect though, in almost any field liars, cheaters, manipulators exist. It isn't just poker by any means... I'm not trying to defend poker really, I think it can be a very shady game filled with shady players/dirty tactics. You either accept the risk when you enter a casino or online or you don't gamble...Sounds to me like you should become a no stakes home player only perhaps??? |

Oh man, 'she' used the term Corporation, which is a theory of Russ G that Doyle and co run a huge cheating ring out of vegas sharing rolls, colluding and generally fleacing people.
The big name victim last i read it was Gus Hanson, who (according to rumour) went busto in the big game. Im pretty sure the Corporation was also the group which marked every card in the two WSOPs Greg Raymer won and then went deep in, and his glasses were special to see the marks. I do like a good conspiracy theory. |

what's interesting about this thread is that instead of addressing the issues raised people post mindless replies attacking the poster personally.
There are some good ideas raised and the parallel between poker and golf and how both sports are run is a good one. There ARE cheating teams on the WPT/tournament circuit. Always were. Does anyone think anything has changed because of TV/larger prize pools? There most likely are cheating teams online too. That is a matter of little debate even among 2plus2 posters. The extent of online cheating is unknown though. A well known online cheat (ZeeJustin) just made the final table of a major BM tournament. Michael Mizrachi is an admitted online cheat. Do you think any of these people or the many many people on the poker tour who are 10 times more crooked think twice about cheating any way they can? In fact these are not even the people who are probably doing the most cheating in BM tournys and online sites. They are just the guys that got caught/admitted to it. They are the tip of the iceberg in every way. Someone posts to discuss this and all 90% of the morons on this forum can do is attack the OP. Good job guys. Keep jerking off to Brandirose and making idiotic posts, the cheaters online and in BM tournaments thank you for all your help. |

Luckychancer,
See my first reply: "Chicken and Egg" Until poker is clean, not just actually clean but percieved as clean, poker wont draw such huge sponsors to make a PGA style poker tour possible. The fact is, poker is gambling and most big companies dont want to have their product associated with gambling. |

After reading and contributing threads to this site for a short while, it has become clear, several posters realize poker, whether it is on line or in a brick and mortar, involves, some suspect happenigs. Participants in poker are up against: team play, bad management, no recourse, untrustworthy sites, and no recourse. Wouldn't tournament poker players be smarter to organize their own organization, hire their own staff, enforce their own rules, on their own members, find sponsors, function as a 501 c-6 or c-3 organization, market and sell their product, like the PGA Tour? Play for other peoples money, is that too easy of a answer? If memory serves me correctly, it cost about $100.00 entry to win $ 1,000,000.00 (or more) first place on the PGA Tour. It is quite clear from several of the threads on this site, known team work in poker tournaments exsists, cheaters exsist, on line sites are not trust worthy. (never mind that one might be playing a bot) Maybe that guy who said "a sucker is born every minute was correct"! Why play? Enlighten me! KATHY [/ QUOTE ] You may have played a long time, but you haven't settled down, found your "niche". If you can't handle tournaments (which seem the focus of your thoughts), don't bother with them. Just because something is available, doesn't mean you have to participate. Just because a B&M open it's doors, doesn't mean you have to go inside, even if it's only a mile away. Become very selective don't play anything or anywhere unless you are comfortable. |

Maybe you don't realize the cheating today is worse than ever in poker.
I have played the 10/20 blind no limit in the Bellagio (and higher) since the game started up 3 years ago or so and I have played poker for over 30 years in Las Vegas. The reason I am posting so much regarding cheating, is a concern for poker. (The Bellagio higher limit games are no longer safe to play at either. I won't even go into the details about violating the gaming laws) Why insult someone for posting their thoughts, like luckychancer did? Maybe luckychancer is not a newbie, perhaps, using someone using a different identity. Read all my posts, I still am looking for an answer to Alaska Highway.
