[ QUOTE ]
1 OSU (not close)
2 Auburn (best win outside of OSU)
3 Florida (tie with Michigan, but the SEC wins my tiebreakers)
4 Michigan (most consistent team and biggest road win outside of OSU)
5 USC (lots of decent wins, but no big ones)
6 Louisville (so impressed with Petrino)
7 LSU (maybe the most talent, but Les Miles...I don't know.)
8 West Virginia (when does their season start?)
9 Oregon (OU "win" has them playing lights out now. The Cal game could be a classic.)
10 Texas (Still so many questions. I know it was Ohio State, but you're the national champs. 24-7 on your home field?)

[/ QUOTE ]

I find this last bit funny. What does "National Champs" have to do with anything? That was last year and this year they aren't anywhere near that team and were up against a team that outclasses them on both sides of the football, they could have played this game on a parking lot in 6th street and tOSU wins--location nor titles can't win you games when you just simply aren't as good as the team you are up against.

there are a handful of analysts putting Michigan at #2 now

some are even very respected, such as Todd McShay

The WSU Cougar fan here would like it noted that save for one troll who had USC at 6 that our two losses are to teams that are consensus top 5.

I suppose I could have ranked Auburn lower, as they haven't impressed me at all. But who else could I put as 3?

noted...their offense is solid

I am quite interested in watching the Cougs play some good, but not great teams

Obviously, since you have LSU ranked 10th.

I think LSU so low is off. I know they've crushed weak opponents & lost to Auburn, but they still have one of the better offenses in the SEC to go with a sick defense.
My Gators need a very good offensive game or a few key turnovers to win this week. Russel vs the UF secondary is very, very scary.

FWIW- Auburn I thought looked v. good vs the Cougs. Kenny Irons is a beast.

USC also looked good, little more suspect on defense, but they're just a really well coached team and I think that makes up for a lot. Booty looked pretty sharp as well.

Again, lack of quality teams to put at #10. Perhaps Tennessee, its close. Auburn is a solid team, but has done nothing to make me think they are a Championship caliber team.
