Rolf, just got the book. Looks awesome and in-depth. I'm experienced at no-limit hold em and new to Omaha, it seems like a fairly advanced book for a new player to Omaha. Would you recommend i read a basic Omaha book prior to your latest. Example - Championship Omaha by Cloutier and McEvoy

Thanks for your great work and sacrifice to help poker players like myself become better.

For future refernece, conjelco ships priority mail. I usually get stuff two days after it ships. I probably pay a bit more than I would at amazon, though.

Spike,

If you are good at tournies the material is extensible.

This is absolutely fine for on line play. It is almost entirely based in math and talks about good strategy (in a game theory sense, though I don't think Rolf ever uses that term).

I buy all my 2+2 books direct. I didn't know Rolf's book was going to be available through Conjelco.

In addition to the service, I don't mind paying a little more as appreciation for Conjelco supporting this site.

I'd recommend Ciaffone's book to start (if you need a primer).

Go to Rolf's website (www.rolfslotboom.com) and check out his book reviews.

Lyle Berman chapter in SSII is pretty basic
So is Ciaffone's Omaha book mentioned elsewhere

Ciaffone & Reuben have some good material in their PL & NL Poker book

Reuben's How Good is Your PLO is good.

I don't think much of Cloutier's book.

I hate to disagree with someone that has an awesome avatar but I think a new player is asking for seriuos trouble if he reads Reuben. I got past the first chapter and realized I was not ready for Reuben.

I didn't finish the book so I have incomplete information but my understanding is Reuben plays really well post flop so he can get away with being really loose preflop. A new player is not going to play well post flop so based on a partial read and previous discussions on this forum, I say newbie beware. I won't say don't read it and and I won't say it isn't a good book but I am certain it isn't for newbies.
