just call the flop and C/R the turn depending on the card. you'll have a better idea if you are still ahead, as many players lead out with a big flush draw.

I hate this. You are OOP and if he has a marginal hand (like a ten or a small PP), he will likely check behind on the turn and call a river bet. He also might bet/fold these hands on the turn. He also might check behind on the turn with a draw. If you checkraise the flop you will get a lot of action from a weak ace, you will get maximum from a marginal hand, and you won't risk giving free cards to a draw.

I didn't read any responses and I'l most likely get shot down for this, but I 3-bet that pre-flop if I think there is a good chance this is a steal attempt. At 5/10 I think the C/R is a nice play (especially given your pre-flop call).

I play mostly 2/4, and at that level I'm 3-betting the flop unless I respect that raise and I'm leading out on the flop, but then again, I'm the worst player ever...

I'm usually 3-betting a CO open-raise with these stats preflop. C/R the flop is a standard play for me here and I wouldn't even say it's for deception. Villian likely has a weak hand and may not put a lot of chips into the pot on a scary board. If you call and he doesn't have a piece of the flop, he's going to shut down and probalby fold to a turn bet. If you raise here, he'll probably peel a card off and fold the turn UI. So check raising gets another small bet from your opponent if he has a weak hand. If he has a smaller ace or a ten You may get a couple of big bets out of him ont he turn and river but most opponents aren't going to go to war on this board.

So while I never think its a "mistake" to put in a raise with what is almost certainly the best hand I like smooth calling hear. While it's true that another club could be a little scary you would still have redraws on a made flush for a full house not including if your Jack high flush draw would be good. I like the smooth call because the raise will most likely tighten him up pn later streets bring in the raise on the turn sense he will almost certainly try to represent an ace or a jack and bet at you

I love it. LAGs love to get even LAGgier head up in blind steal situations when facing aggressive play.
