[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] btw let me make it clear that I don't doubt at all that bigjoe is a winning player, and he may very well be the biggest winning player and best sit and go player in the world. I really don't know. I just know that some of his comments and claims seem quite off to me. And the way in which he insults dozens of people while making these claims (ie all the "TERRIBLE" stars regulars) is even more offputting. [/ QUOTE ] Your momma is offputting [/ QUOTE ] Haha - you may be good, but you're the mouthiest POS I've ever read on this site. Here's hoping you crash and burn... -Brass [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps a 10% roi is achievable, perhaps it is not. I would bet it is. I think from the way people have been talking a even odds bet would be on like 4-5%. The reason I have become so "mouthy" is because there is a tendency on this forum for one or two people to say something and then everyone else just blindly agrees with them, despite the fact that they might not have any idea what they are talking about. All of the comments about the 1ks being unbeatable, and passing rake around etc are just wrong, and just because one or two well known posters say something (especially when they have not played in one of these tournaments) does not mean it is true or credible. Everyone I have spoken to who actually knows what they are talking about on this subject have agreed that the high buy in stars sngs will be beaten soundly by the party pros. But all of us could be wrong, we will just have to see. And I never specifically said any of the stars regulars are terrible or idiots. I am just saying that there are enough bad players to make the 1ks very profitable for a few players, and beatable for others, just like the lower stakes. So please Brass, will you remove your curse, bc I'm a little scared to play now...especially after monday night...stupid bears... [/ QUOTE ] hmm, so you never said all the players other than you and your buddies were horrible. Let's try a little reading comprehension. The following is an exact quote from you: "IMO, the stars sngs are so incredibly soft its ridiculous. It sucks that me, mario, good2cu, and z32fanatic are playing in every game, but besides us everyone is horrible. The Stars "regulars" will all be horribly busto soon. I think long term roi's of 10% are very attainable at the 530s and 1k sngs and 15% roi is attainable at the 225s" Notice the words: EVERYONE BESIDES US IS HORRIBLE. |

[/ QUOTE ] LOL, how many of these people are Party pros? FWIW, I'm a Party pro and I'm not crushing on Stars. I must suck. Or maybe the couple hundred or so SnGs I've played since moving over don't really mean anything for making big conclusions about attainable ROIs and such. My mommy thinks I pwn and that's all that matters. And I have a huge e-penis. |

[ QUOTE ] I didnt realize that Curtains could just make up random definitions of economic terms and then claim that everyone on 2+2 should go by them or they're "morans". I think whenever you refer to the return on investment you made up you should use cmut (curtains made up term). That way we won't have these misunderstandings. [/ QUOTE ] This is a common 2+2 practice to exclude rakeback, Im pretty sure almost everyone who is a regular poster here realizes this. [/ QUOTE ] There are several wrong 2+2 practices. The biggest one is just taking your word for everything. |

Also 2+2 doesn't do this. Perhaps my word does have slightly more value than yours because I don't make wide sweeping and ridiculous generalizations? |

I retract the comment that everyone besides me, mario, good2cu, and z32fanatic are horrible...FJ is playing them now as well. No I seriously retrace that. They are not all horrible, some of them are pretty good. But none of them use ICM as well as the above mentioned

[/ QUOTE ] Obviously I would rather bet on a 5% roi being possible, because everyone loves an arbitrage. But I would bet on a 10% as well if given the correct odds. |
