I suspect this is an urban myth but here goes. Hero (to villain) - Is your name Rick? Villain - it is, so what? Hero - Rick with a silent 'P'? Rest of table - lol, lmao. etc. etc. [/ QUOTE ] Rick with the silent P comes from the English comedy series "The Young Ones" shown in the 1980s. |

AJ Raises MP, TT Reraises Button, AJ Calls. Flop JTX... AJ All-Ins, TT of course calls. As soon as they turn over AJ starts going like this... JJJJJJJJJ JJJJJJ!!J!!J!J!! jJJJJJJJJJJJ then the jack hits on the river, and he goes YEEESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and of course loses to the full house. I laughed my ass off about that one. |

I had been raising a lot and had won about 2-3 buy-ins against the same person. The thing is that he was real friendly and we were chatting the whole time. Then this hand came up.
I raise with A10 and he calls from the big blind. He has $70 and I have about $350 at a .50/$1 NL table. The flop brings KQJ off so I have the nuts. He checks and I bet 1/2 the pot and he calls. Then the next card came a 10. Now any Ace will have a straight. Before he acts he types "I have the 9, do you have an Ace?" I said "No". He then checked and this time I bet the pot. He types again "I have the 9 do you have the Ace???" I said "No" again and he calls. The river brings a blank so still any Ace is the nuts. He types that he has the 9 one more time then checks again. I then went all in for his last $43. He then asks again and I reply that I dont have the Ace. He then calls all of his money with the 9 and I won the pot. I couldn't stop laughing after that. You're proud of lying to a person you've been friendly to, making him feel like [censored] ... and you think this is good for the game how? |

heads up against a guy playing every hand i call all his raises and win against his nothing hand. i just figured he was on the come too many times to be real so i stayed whith an ok hand that i would have otherwise folded against a solid player.
he says "you didn't have odds to call that!" i say "maybe you play too many many hands" i probably should have agreed with him, he left after that. |

playing $1/$2 NL at paradise. player 1 holds AA, player 2 (not american, which is relevant in a moment) holds 94s. flop comes A 5 2 with two spades. player 1 bets pot size, player 2 calls. next is a blank. player 1 bets pot size, player 2 calls. River brings the spade and player one checks and calls down. At the showdown he says " i knew you were chasing you F'ing donkey". Player 2 replies something like "your mom good sex, you like". Player 1 doesn't respond. Player 2 types the same message. Player 1 responds "I'm sorry, I don't speak broken English". My next hand timed out because I couldn't stop laughing.

[/ QUOTE ] The guy with the 9 kind of deserves what he got. He shouldn't be asking other players what they're holding. And he shouldn't be expect to be told the truth when someone answers his question. Hopefully he learned his lesson. That being said, I either wouldn't have replied, or would have replied with something along the lines of "You'll soon find out" or "It'll cost you to find out". |
