Ansky,
Great post. The only thing I would say is that I've talked to some very good players about this and I think in most situations in tournaments metagame is irrelevant.

[/ QUOTE ]

metagame isnt just about playing a hand in a way that will help you in the future, it's also taking into account already in play perceptions... which was the main point of my post I'd say.

True, but I think the amount of times you will have a decision deep against a someone has a read on you and you have read on them are so rare that its not worth adapting your range to get more value in spots like this.

and was the main point of my insistence that in this case calling is "correct." hopefully this doesn't come off as me defending a "wrong" rationale, because i'd say i agree with your entire post. but i, and at least a handful of others, were very sure of the "goddamned vacuum answer" (which you are right is extremely problematic in general, and 100x moreso when opponent familiarity is involved) but were unable to convey (or in my case, unable to consciously discern and understand) that the action is such-and-such BECAUSE of exploitability of play on either Bond and/or Rizen's part. i got so caught up in avoiding basing my line on future exploitability that i neglected that the key was past (and, therefore, CURRENT) exploitability.

thank you very much for providing the monthly that's why i come to this site post.

wtf?

and i'm sorry, but raising flop is not best. period. tired of this thread and i'm done with it.

Maybe you should listen to people who are winning players. BTW I think calling the flop is definetely the best but someone like Nath should raise.

oh cool, you're a dick too. nice to meet you.

There aren't many people I have grudges against. But in almost every single thread you are incredibly condescending and have a huge ego even though you're terrible at poker.

Great post, Ansky. It's important to realize, though, that as good as Bond and Rizen are, this isn't 6-max cash at all, which changes everything a ton.

Also, to be bluffing properly on this flop requires bluffing with showdown value a decent amount, which lets us seriously discount bond's bluffing range when he raises.

What are we calling LAG?. 16/10 seems pretty nitty to me, mainly because it's more nitty than me, and I always feel like a nit.

i dono, anything 20+ is looseish for full ring. more important than overall vpip is vpip in the steal spots, wish i could filter hud to only show that. i'd imagine you could fool a lot of solid players by playing superrock from all position but late, if they use the hud then your steals will get a [censored] ton of credit.
