without Manningham, I don't see Michigan running the table until tOSU [/ QUOTE ] That's crazy talk. Breaston, Arrington, Matthews. Losing a wide receiver doesn't make Michigan suddenly worse than Iowa or Penn State. |

[ QUOTE ] without Manningham, I don't see Michigan running the table until tOSU [/ QUOTE ] That's crazy talk. Breaston, Arrington, Matthews, Doug Dutch. Losing a wide receiver doesn't make Michigan suddenly worse than Iowa or Penn State. [/ QUOTE ] It doesn't make them worse than Penn State, but it makes them a little closer to Iowa. Steve Breaston is NOT a good WR. Good return man? Certainly. However, he wouldn't start at Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State, and a slew of others. Manningham and Henne have a great chemistry together, and those fade patterns were their deep bread and butter. Without Super Mario, that won't be neeeeeeeearly as reliable. I honestly agree with Mt2R when he predicts Michigan will not run the table pre-tOSU. Hart is a stud, but Michigan does not have a reliable consistent deep threat now, so defenses can stack 7 in the box solely to stop Hart. Breaston will need to step up, and if he can (which I don't think he can), Michigan could be fine. |

We don't really know if any of the other guys can step up and be a deep threat because they haven't had to yet. Arrington averages 16 or 17 yards a catch, so maybe he can do the job. |

[/ QUOTE ] From a huge, incredibly passionate college football fan, I hope someone does step up. As much as I dislike Michigan (I'm a UT fan ... remember the 2001 Outback Bowl), I DO want to see an 11-0 Michigan team play an 11-0 Ohio State team. I love rivalries and home fans going nuts. Nothing like it anywhere else in sports. |

Apparently the surgery went well. No word on how long he's out, but all they confirmed was that he was out this week. I suppose that means he's possible for Iowa. This would, barring unforseen developments, have him in great shape for OSU. I can only hope.

The radio here is saying he's expected to miss several weeks. Whatever that means.
