Even if Texas' record ends up better I would pick Tenn every single time HU against each other. Texas has a much better chance of winning out with only Nebraska left as their toughest game and then either Mizzou or Nebraska in the title game...Tenn has LSU, Arkansas and Alabama...then if they squeeze into that SEC title game most likely Auburn (Arkansas won't be there). The SEC's road is just so much more treacherous than the Big 12's, so of course there is more likelihood that Texas will or could have a better record in the end but right now Tenn has been more impressive with more impressive wins.

LSU is a top 15 team right now, that's tough. Arkansas likely just had a fluke win over Auburn. Their resume looks very unimpressive, besides their best win. Bama's isn't bad, but no tougher than Nebraska/Texas Tech.

Really, the main thing that separates these two schedules is that Tennessee has to beat LSU, while Texas doesn't. For years now, the SEC has been overrated IMHO.

Either way, we'll see. Note: Even if both teams end up with 1 loss at the end of the season, MOV is huge. If one team squeaks win after win, and the other blasts teams by 14+, I'd happily take the team that wins by 14+.

lastchance,

"For years now, the SEC has been overrated IMHO."

Your boy Sagarin.

CONFERENCE CENTRAL MEAN SIMPLE AVERAGE TEAMS

1 PAC-10 (A) = 79.37 79.10 ( 1) 10
2 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 77.92 77.83 ( 2) 12
3 I-A INDEPENDENTS (A) = 77.08 76.01 ( 4) 3
4 BIG TEN (A) = 76.57 77.07 ( 3) 11
5 BIG 12 (A) = 74.58 74.86 ( 5) 12
6 BIG EAST (A) = 74.37 74.81 ( 6) 8
7 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 72.79 71.67 ( 7) 12
8 MOUNTAIN WEST (A) = 68.91 68.50 ( 8) 9
9 CONFERENCE USA (A) = 65.37 66.30 ( 9) 12
10 WESTERN ATHLETIC (A) = 64.02 65.02 ( 10) 9

Tell me how it is overrated? I live in Big XII country and am the first to admit that their conference is a joke and you are trying to compare the rest of Tennessee's schedule with Texas', that seems strange. I don't think it is close.

Not this year. Last two years. Go for that.

And yeah, this year they're strong. Really though, Texas' schedule is a lot easier than Tennessee, but that's mostly because of LSU (which is a huge difference).

I just think Arkansas is overrated, Bama is about as strong as Texas Tech, and LSU is good.

I think 4 teams in the SEC are really good, and it really drops off from there. Tenn is one of them, they've already played Florida, they won't have to play Auburn, and LSU is really good.

Texas is like that, one Nebraska game (who is nowhere near as good as LSU), and they should have pretty clear sailing the rest of the way.

Of course, any given saturday, but that's how I feel it breaks down.

Its not only LSU but that their title game will likely feature a top 10 team--especially if Auburn goes unbeaten the rest of the way which means they will have beat #2 Florida this week and UGA down the road. The Big XII North just doesn't have that power, sure Mizzou and Nebraska look better and are starting give the North some respect but they aren't powerful or scary by any means...if they were Mizzou would be mentioned in the top 10 with their 6-0 record. The SEC's title game is much more brutal and the top tier is more brutal as well. In the Big XII south it is Texas and OU, to be honest Mizzou and Nebraska, IMO, are the next two best in the Big XII if not ahead of Oklahoma--doesn't mean much, the conference is soft and if you are the top dog you really only have to "worry" once MAYBE twice.

MyTurn,

They got a couple freebies but then be very careful the next couple of weeks. They are good though, the Dallas boy at QB is kicking ass...I guess he didn't want to stop winning from HS.

LSU has beaten:
Louisiana-Lafayette (3-2 against terrible teams)
Arizona (2-4)
Tulane (2-3, with a 38 point loss to Houston)
Mississippi State (1-5)

Combined record: 8-14

and lost to:

Florida (6-0)
Auburn (5-1)

Record: 11-1

So LSU has lost to both teams it has played who meet any basic competency requirements. And beaten 4 schools full of retards trying to hump doorknobs. So I'm not sure what we can say about them, other than they're not top 10, and not bottom half of the NCAA. Otherwise, until they beat someone who isn't entirely incompetent, I have a hard time placing them highly.

LSU is the most talented team in the country (arguably with tOSU), but finds ways to lose....it's amazing
