You build a roll to make money, not to get respect from an internet poker forum.

but when

1. youre already running badly
2. people mock you for it "the micros are so easy"

whats the point? i dont even know anymore, this downswing has eaten a good 80% of my roll playing within it

I kinda feel bad for you because I was probably just as annoying and stupid when I started posting here. But seriously.. this is a thread that is not about you. Please don't whine in it about how badly you run/play and annoy the hell out of us.

We don't care (except that we're annoyed), and it's certainly not gonna make people want to help you learn to suck less at poker.

The problem with the MTT forum in its current state is not just that it mostly contains low stakes posts, it's that it's largely focused on hand decisions and hand advice.

A tournament strategy forum's main focus should be on the situations, dynamics, and nuances that make tournament poker different than cash poker, the strategies employed to take advantage of them, and how to improve your play in those situations.

Not to say there isn't a place for hand discussion, but they should be limited more to actually interesting or difficult decisions. After all, part of the reason to read and post advice is to improve your own game, and I think people would post more "brain food" if there was a high stakes / theory board with a low stakes / hand advice board to complement it.

There will always be people patient enough to take the time to explain to lower stakes posters why their decisions are relatively simple. Always have been. But I think the forum as is is limited in what it can do for players (which really means, we are limited for what we can do for each other).

So count one more vote for a split.

This is the reason i don't go there anymore, well put nath. On that note, i'm not sure if the split would help or not but i see no reason to no give it a shot. Its kinda the same idea as when they made MTTC, if it works out well keep it, if not then scrap it.

I definately think that the split will generate more interest in the strat forums to begin with (beacuse its new and fresh) and that might be the type of little boost that MTTS needs.

Captain Serious,
Please note the sarcasm. But alas, it is not being split, I am sorry but it isnt happening as long as I mod here. So lets move on.
