That's because in other languages, such as dutch, the apastrophe is often correct there. Same thing with punctuation: different languages have different rules about where to place a comma.

Yeah, you really have to be careful who you judge and subsequently make fun of someone in this regard, for they could easily respond, "Oh, i'm sorry, I just learned english 2 weeks ago, and it's so hard keeping track of 8 languages. How many do you know?"
