I used to do so much dumb stuff as a kid it's not even funny.

I once held a firecracker in my winter-gloved hand and let it explode. It ripped the hell out of the glove and burnt my hand a bit.

I used to crawl through SEWERS with my friend to "explore". We'd pop out of the manhole in other neighborhoods, then walk back home. We probably did this like 20 times. How we never came across a rat or snake is beyond me.

We used to have bottlerocket wars. Running at people, shooting bottle rockets at them. I got hit in the back of the head with a roman candle shot and it burnt some of my hair.

We used to roll tires down the street HOPING that they'd hit oncoming cars. That all stopped when my brother rolled one, and it went through the window of our house, shattering glass and almost landing on our month-old brother who was sitting on the couch. (Split level home).

We used to go through the neighborhood on Friday night at like 2am and collect all the "For Sale" signs in the neighborhood and stick them all in this one guy's front yard. He had like 40 signs in his front yard. We'd take people's firelogs from their backyard and put them in front of their garage door so that when they tried to leave in the morning, they'd back into the logs.

A lot of other stuff as well...swinging from a vine in the creek. THat all ended when a girl was on the vine and it snapped and she fell onto a rock and had a concussion.

Playing homerun derby and hitting tennis balls up against people's house.

My older brother did a lot of worse stuff. Him and his buddy littered the front of this old guy's house with tomatoes. He came out and threatened to kill my brother and his friend. They were about 12. My brother's friend actually was just murdered 2 years ago at age 26. Not by the same guy.

My brother stuck a gardening hose into the ground up against this guy's foundation and turned the water on full blast. Hours later they got home and their basement was flooded from capillary action through the cracks.

My brother pushed his friend out of a treehouse once and jumped down to fight him and his friend hit him in the back of the head with the claw side of a hammer.

I could go on and on but I don't want this to get "tl;dr".

I'm dreading having kids because I know they will do some stuff like this and I don't want to have to deal with it!

Was about 11 years old. Me and a buddy were throwing rocks at a hornets nest that was the size of a basketball. We were in his driveway throwing into the neighbors pine tree. After a couple good hits the tree is swarming so we dart to the front yard. Neighbor girl (year older) comes whistling down the street, heres how it went...
Her: "Whatcha doin'?"
Me: "Playing hidin seek."
Her: "Can I play?"
Me: "Uh..Yeah but you have to be it first."
Her: "Ok, wheres base?"
MeGod forgive me)"The big pine tree in Mrs. Smiths's back yard."
Her:"Ok go hide and I'll go count to 10."
Me: "Make sure you count all the way to 10 and no peeking."
30 seconds later...
Her: "1,2, ow ouch arghh arghhhhhh ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHGHGHG HELP HELP GET THEM OFF HELP ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."
MEheart beating out of my chest, fear welling up in my belly.) "What happened??? You ok?" as she is running all the way home swatting every part of her body. Few minutes later ambulance shows up and takes her to the hospital. Yellow tail hornets and she was allergic.
Not too proud of that one, even though it was a genius plan.

Not unthinkable, but I stole candy from convenience stores almost every day throughout middle school. I just can't bring myself to steal stuff now.

Same here, except my thievery was mostly baseball cards in 5th and 6th grade.

I ganked 88 and 89 Topps. What a waste.

I have to call complete BS on everyone claiming they have tried or successfully outrun cops.

The penalties when you get caught are not really something you would casually joke about in an "unthinkable" thread.

I'm pretty sure you're full of [censored].

o i c.

well i'm not. i was 17. i was doing 96 in a 55 when he clocked me (although i had braked just beforehand, was doing around 105-110), and going the opposite direction of him. i saw him turn his lights on in my rear view and immediately braked and, funny enough, put my right turn signal on as i turned into a dirt lane and began speeding 60 mph or so down that road (sidenote: the damage i did to my car going 60 down a bumpy dirt road ultimately totaled it, although there was no accident). i had a friend that lived down that road and in my quick thinking thought that, if i got caught, i could just explain it away to the cop as "i didn't even see you, i was just going to my friend's place."

anyway, i skidded into my friends place, having put some distance between the cop and i, and got out of the car and begin to run. i then realized that my [censored] car would still be there, and what was i gonna do, become a fugitive from justice? so i returned to my car, stood beside it as the cop followed my trail of dust to where i was standing.

he then got out of his car and proceeded to scream and curse at me about how fast i was going, and then arrest me and take me in. it was actually my third time getting arrested that year, and my mom, after picking me up from jail, was wailing about how she "gives up," and how she had failed. in hindsight, since i'm now in a top tier law school and i think i'm an ok guy, it's kinda funny.

i ended up getting out of the whole thing with no fine, 100 hours of community service, and no points on my license. yay for lawyers that are old friends with judges.

I used to detonate firecrackers in my hand all the time, even the bigger ones, and without wearing gloves. It does no harm at all if you make sure to hold them loosely with your fingers.

i know more people my age that have run from the cops than haven't. granted, most of these have been when we were 12-16 and on foot.

the closest to running from the cops ive ever done in a car is seeing a cop pull out to pull me over and jetting into a driveway and killing the lights before he took the corner.

on foot, ive ran several times for several reasons, all between ages of 12-15.

as for something unthinkable that i did. the year before second grade i went down a section of the colorado river on nothing but a big inner tube. the water was near class 3-4 and i finally jumped off and swam to shore with about 250 ft to spare before it went into canyon walls.

This is great advice. You'd be a fool NOT to do this.

This is a great thread.

It's like a who's-who list of people you never want to meet or leave your kids unattended near.
