The enjoyment factor of playing poker at all of these wonderful online sites while your ass gets sore and you sacrifice your entire social life far outweighs the paydays IMO.
Edit: Oh yeah, and my biggest win in a MTT is just 1st in a 180 man for 1080. Actually, that's not even a MTT, it's a SnG. Apparently, I suck balls.
