Perhaps there was one prior to me 1980 but if there is please enlighten me. Also do NOT mention Ohio State vs Miami, while that was a great game it isnt even close to this. Also, the fact Ohio State didnt really win the game (they won on a Phantom Pass Interference Call) ruins that game. This was easily the a Top 3 best game ever and IMO # 1.

Your memory must not go back 3 years.

Although there was a lot of hype into this game, a lot of people thought Texas had a good chance at it. Texas has been #2 all year, no one doubted them.

2 OTs > Win with 20 seconds left. More 4th down and crazy plays. More drama in the game.

This game is a very close 2nd though.

If you are looking for big plays, and big situations, I'm not sure what game would have more of them than this one. It was an edge of your seat nail biter. What more can you ask for?

The BCS got it right this year in all 4 games.
