This new rule is in fact true. I was recently talking to some dealers and a floor supervisor privately about the reason for this rule. They felt that it reveals information about a certain players playing style, that was unavailable to the rest of the table. But mostly, many many people "apparently" complained about it, i guess a lot of 30-60 players? but thats essentially what i was told....

HOWEVER.... a new rule now allows you to strattle on the button while playing 3 handed. The reason for this rule which i was told from another annonymous source, is that the person who makes all of canterburys rules couldnt remember making that rule.

I got yelled by a dealer at Wynn for "talking about a hand after it was over, because I was not in it". I was confused as could be afterwards.

We aren't that far away.

Kinda off topic, but this reminded me of it. Playing drunken 3/6 at the Mirage 2 wks ago...I wasn't in the hand on the river and the BB (who didn't know what he was doing) checked and the button (who did know what he was doing) bet, That's when I say, "that guy bets 6 dollars he has the best hand right now."

The button goes ballistic on me saying that I can't talk about the hand if I'm not in it. I said that I wasn't talking about the hand, that I just made a comment that he had bet, but he was still ranting and raving about how it was against the rules. I said I knew the rules and if that's how it's gonna be, that's how it's gonna be I guess. The dealer said nothing during the entire episode, can't imagine he minded my comment, or was I out of line?

Anyway, the BB calls, Button shows KQ for K-high, and the BB shows K8 also for K-high and the button wins the pot.

button going "ballistic" over 1 BB in a 3/6 at the mirage is probably out of line a tad also. i would have just said something about talking about the hands after the hand was over. i guess it was some local rock, and that BB was lunch money.

Yes, that remark was completely out of line.

Oh, and I think I would like a "no railbird" rule.
Glad to see from some of the posts that the "wife/girlfriend sitting behind the player" thing is okay.

Does anyone know why Mistake Lake doesn't open a room? Is it some sort of verbal agreement like, Mystic won't open a poker room if Canterbury lays off the slot machine quest or something? I think Mystic is the only MN casino w/o a poker room.

Mystic could build a real nice room, of course Canterbury would get killed then.

You know what, its just best that you don't say anything. Sure in print "that guy bets $6" may sound acceptable, but people speak with different tones and inflections, and whether or not you mean it, the way you say something may tell others more than your words do.

The comment made in the post "He bets $6 that he has the best hand" could easily be said in a way that indicates that the speaker doesn't agree with the bettors assessment of his hand.

I don't understand why players find it so difficult to keep quiet about a hand while it is in progress.

agreed. i didn't even interpret it right reading it in print.

he bets $6 he has the best hand right now.

completely different from

he bets $6. he has the best hand right now.

while i don't agree about talking about hands in progress, i stand by my post stating that "he bets $6" would not be out of line. i've even said stuff to this effect when there are people twiddling their thumbs when it is their turn to act, and the dealer isn't doing a good job of keeping the action going.

Its true. The story I heard is some visting 30-60 player lost a lot of cash to a couple of guys her werre sweating each other. He claimed collusion and mamagement made a no sweating ever policy. The dealers are enforcing it pretty tight and I heard that a couple of them have been written up for ignoring it.

It has taken a lot of fun and some very good information from the 81-6 game.

Now I'm lost. I thought I knew what sweating was? But apparently I don't because this makes no sense to me.

What exactly is not being permitted now?

Showing your hand to another player who's sitting in the game.
