Nice start. Keep doubling every break.

Starting chips are 10k even though the buy-in is only 5k.

Two out of two twoplustwoers who have won big live tournaments recently lost most of their chips on day 1. Dump at least half your stack before the end of today.

Oh, and good luck!

2nd break, down to 8500, I lost 2k when I folded JJ in a T527 turn.

Sounds like a tough lay down. Must've been a nice fold. GL!

Am I the only one who thinks that the payout schedules for the WPT events is kind of ridiculous?

592 entrants and only 36 get paid. Also, I feel like the difference between 6th ($85,370) and 1st ($1,052,890) is a bit ridiculous, especially with the High Blind structure at the FT of the WPT events.

Anyone else?

C-Dog

no, i agree C-Dog.

i think they are obsessed with giving the winner $1m or something.

it seems like the payout structure should pay like 60 players, and they really need to, just in general, flatten their final table structure. if 1st "only" gets $600,000, i think the public will get over it. it's not fair to the players IMO to have to play this almost "winner-take-all" format.

(un)fortunately, it's not a problem that affects me directly, but i feel bad for those players who it does affect.

If WPT flattens the payout, Mike saying "This is a tough decision folks...the difference between 1st and 3rd is $189K!!!" doesn't have the same effect as "...over once million dollars! That real cash there Vince."
