And this is the post that makes this the first thread in the history of the stud forum to get the little flame.

How old are you? Birthday?
29 on april 11th

Where do you live? in munich, germany - i moved here from berlin a year ago

Are you married? Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Children? have a girlfriend, that s why i am now in munich

Occupation besides poker? quit my job as a bartender

If studying (or if graduated), what and where? although iīm a foreign language secretary and european correspondant, i never really wanted to enter corporate world

Favorite movie? Music? uh... the good the bad and the ugly maybe

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing? winning 800$ in a speed tournament, the next day 400$ in an O8 tournament. i play for about a year now, but seriously for a half.
before i played a lot of backgammon, i got quite good quickly (good enough to beat the fish) and had a wonderful time in my life, when gammonempire.com started. it was so many fish for serious money.... best gambling time so far. but the backgammon players in berlin already picked up on poker (holdem), which i thought was nothing more than a craps shoot, i secretly thought they must be really crazy. then i borrowed somebodys "lee jones - winning low limit holdem, 1st edition, lol) but i didnīt like it very much. our weekly chouette (backgammon game for a group of players) broke up shortly after, because everybody wanted to play poker.

when i got to munich, it seemed that all the fishy backgammon players on gammonempire got grilled, and i took a job as a bartender. then i read about all this bonus to made at poker, there is nothing like that in backgammon. i got a few books (this turned into an addiction, i have about 60 now, and a few more are already ordered).

o.k. now you know the story of my life, or that part of it that i like best.

now i want to work on my stud8 and razz, never got too much involved with stud hi for some reason, but it s on my list

You've bought sixty poker books in a year? I've been buying poker books for about ten years and I consider myself somewhat compulsive about it, and I only have about 70.

just gave it another count, i must have taken my my blackjack books into the last count. there was a short time, when i really was interested in it, but had to realize, that there is no point in playing blackjack in europe, as the casinos shuffle the cards after every game.
so it s only 53 books on poker.

What on earth for? Card counters can't have such an advantage that they need to shuffle every hand. If they feel the need to shuffle frequently, so be it, but by shuffling every hand, they're costing themselves money.

It's hard for me to get a count on my books, too. There aren't as many scattered on the floor as there used to be, but there are still a couple. I just found Amarillo Slim's 1972 book in a box of junk. Ken Warren and Stewart Wolpin are in storage (their books, not the men themselves).

It's probably a game with a continuous shuffle (as in, they just throw the cards from last hand into a massive shuffle machine and never have to stop dealing hands).

That's obnoxious. Remind me never to go to Europe.

45.

NY.

Married 24 yrs.

2 kids 23 and 19.

Retired.

Studying life, it's not that easy.

Rock in general but, depending on the moment/occasion, blues, jazz and even rap can fit right in.

Playing seriously 2 yrs and biggest accomplishment is knowing exactly why I win or lose every hand I play.

There's many things to know to win at poker but, if you're afraid to lose, none of the rest matter.
