[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Post pictures insulting Weis, calling him fat and stupid over and over the joke really never gets old. [/ QUOTE ] "They're going to have to learn about us, OK? Let them try to stop a pro-style offense, which has multiple personnel groups and multiple formations. Let's see how they are going to do. They've had their advantage because I've come into recruiting late. Well, now it's Xs and Os time. Let's see who has the advantage now." - Charlie Weis With Charlie Weis clearly displaying his arrogant douchebaggery again and again (as seen in quotes like the one above), and the ND fan base buys into all the hype by spending two years pimping for a guy who's best accomplishment is losing a close game at home...all the mocking and scorn and jokes seem beyond well-deserved. Getting indignant about all the fat jokes and making veiled threats about how good Notre Dame will be in 2009 once Ty's guys are finally gone doesn't erase the last two years of prodigious Notre Dame/Weiss undeserved sense of accomplishment. I consider this merely Notre Dame and Weis getting their just comeuppance. Looking at that Weis quote makes me think this thread could go on for 500 more Weis-at-the-buffet/Commander and Chief Trophy jokes and the universe still wouldn't be in balance. Weis's and Notre Dame fan's arrogance knows no bounds, therefore the jokes and mockery which celebrate their crashing and burning should continue indefinitely as well. [/ QUOTE ] That's a lot of words to try and defend yourself for being a tool. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Come on now, this thread is just a ND hater circle jerk and nothing else. [/ QUOTE ] I can almost agree but for the occasional Domer dropping in with ND talking points and denial. [/ QUOTE ] The problem is that you're wrong. This is weak pointless thread. Everyone gets it, ND sucks and tons of people are happy. Post pictures insulting Weis, calling him fat and stupid over and over the joke really never gets old. [/ QUOTE ] I just want to make sure, before I get much further in... You are the guy who thinks it made sense to give a guy with less than one year of head coaching experience a ten year contract extension, right? [/ QUOTE ] No, I am the guy who was on the Charlie Weis bandwagon the first year. I was in love with the guy, thought he was the second coming of christ ect ect. The ND AD was the one who wanted to give Charlie Weis a 10 year contract. I post on a forum, he works for ND. I don't know dick about contracts on any professional level so I try my best to stay out of any discussion of those. Since there is usually some aspect of them that I don't know about. Like with Weis, perhaps the AD of ND knows that he could cut Charlie loose if he needed to next week. 10 year contract does not always mean he is stuck at ND for ten years. [/ QUOTE ] Somebody h4x0r3d your account then and typed: "At the time it seemed like a really good idea. Right now that contract seems like a less than stellar plan, but there is no way for anyone to have known this would happen." See that really helps in my understanding your criticism of me, that you both: 1) deny I engage what Domers have actually argued, and 2) don't acknowledge what you yourself have actually written. Not two weeks ago another Domer posted what he thought insightful and fair analysis that had ND's probable finish at 5-7. Was that absurd? You've been telling me how everyone fully understands how poor ND is this year, right? |

[ QUOTE ]
That's a lot of words to try and defend yourself for being a tool. [/ QUOTE ] lol okay. Well, like I said, it's pretty funny someone so bad at coaching has the gall to make quotes like that, and I'll never grow tired of mocking him when he fails miserably, like he's done time and time again this year. So if you wonder why this thread never dies, read that quote again (and the dozens like it). It should eventually make sense. |

[ QUOTE ] That's a lot of words to try and defend yourself for being a tool. [/ QUOTE ] To me you are derailing the thread from the reasonable critiques rather than the opposite. [/ QUOTE ] Notre Dame fans are out of options. Getting indignant about everyone else being so mean to Charlie and warning everyone about how they'll be good once Ty's guys are gone is all they've got left to save face. When you spend two years crowing about how great your coach is (despite the fact he's accomplished nothing but beat a bunch of mediocre teams), then making pre-season predictions about how you'll be 9-3 -- only to see your team turn into one of the worst in Division I -- what the hell else can you do besides whine and pout about how mean everyone else is? That's about all ND has left at this point. Charlie's beyond defensible now, but thanks to the internets, there's this hilarious achieve on numerous blogs/message boards of delusional Notre Dame fans singing the praises of Weis. Better to try to hand-wave that all away and get teary-eyed about all those cruel 'haters' then think about how stupid you sounded just a year or two ago when you were writing love letters about Weis all over the internet. |

The real crime is Army isn't on the schedule this year. It's probably already been said, but I can't even imagine a service academy sweep

Charlie Weis is just outright awful If he was black, he'd be fired [/ QUOTE ] No, people don't lose support at ND because they are black-- but they might get hired because, while unqualified, they are black, and then be lazy and inarticulate and therefore lose the job. Race has nothing to do with it. |
